    littlemissGTO Welcome to Detailing

Yesterday I decided to make the 4+ hour drive to Chicago to check out the Auto Show. I know guys I'm odd I'd rather look at cars than try to get into an overcrowded restaurant on Valentine's Day. As far as I'm concerned the trip was well worth it. I got to take a look at some cars I'm not likely to see (Bently's, RR, and a couple of Lotus'), and I met up with several good friends.
I posted the pictures in a slideshow here so you guys can view them.

That stingray looks like a silver batmobile. The bumble bee was cool. Thanks.

There was only 1 Ferrari at the show. I don't recall if Porsche was there, I'm almost positive there was. Apparently the Ferrari and the blue Austin Martin that were at the end of the slide show were brought by a local dealership. I think there were only a few Rolls Royce's there. BMW and Mercedes were well represented, I just couldn't get close to the booths. After about 5 hours of being at the show cars became less important and that long drive home started staring me in the face...LOL
(sorry I forgot to add the pictures I took of the Ferrari.)

True that. I was there a couple years ago for the International kitchen and bath expo. I was TIRED after walking around that beotch for 2 days.

Great pics of the show. I've never been to a car show before.

My original plan was to attend the show, then hit up Giordano's for a 1/2 baked pie and drive home. I ended up skipping Giordano's because I was so tired...LOL
I'll be back in Chicago in a few weeks and I'll actually have more time to visit some of my usual haunts while I'm there.

If it's at all possible get there early so you can get a look at some of the more popular cars.

    wow...stingray concept is hot

i feel like out of the american car companies, chevy with the corvette is doing it right. if i were looking for a new sports car for 60-70k, id get a z06. buuuut im a euro guy and would much prefer a tt or gt3 porsche.

a tt is twice as much as a zo6 and 20-40k more than than a zr1.

    a 911 tt is about 134 equiped
    a 911gt3rs is about 143
    a zr1 is 100-120(20k interior upgrade)
    a zo6 is about 75-85.

that's like comparing apples and oranges.. i would say the zr1 is unreal for the money same with the zo6..Porsche has so much more luxury and you can track it without losing it's warranty.. the gt3 rs does the slalom at 75.X that it insane handling.. I LOVE PORSCHE!!!! but i still am highly impressed with the zo6 and the zr1.. the interiors are terrible.. even the 20k upgrade isn't that nice in the zr1. i don't understand why american cars can't have nice interiors.. Cadillac is one but they aren't even that special all across the board. bmw, audi, merc, porsche..they just make well rounded vehicles. the overall refinement from the door handle to the engine is just awesome. i wish chevy and GM would take the hint. and it looks like they are but slowly..christler just looks hopeless
