I have only heard stories like what happened to me today. I bought a new 2004 Chevy 3500 crew cab,4x4 Deisel Dually with 3 miles on it in June of 04! It came with 100,000 miles warranty on the motor and 36,000 on everything else. So I went ahead and paid about $3000.00 to make the rest of the truck covered to 100,000 miles. Well Guess what.. I never had a single problem with the truck until today. Iwent out to start it and the engine light came on and it was just rattlin' like you never heard rattl'n. I have 101,228 Freakin amazing ! The dealership I bought it from said that there is a good chance GM will cover this but no Guarantee. Well I have a feeling I am going to be sore when they are done riding me...lol anyone else been this lucky ?:shakehead:
Don't you hate it when such things happen to you, makes you want to  :fight: well I'm sure we have all been there. Wish you all the best :comfort:
It sounds like an injector broke or something. maybe injectors......I let ya know when they get back to me . I wonder how many cars I am going to have to clean to pay for this...ggrrrr worst comes to worst I do have the truck paid off I guess I could refinance ...it just sucks. I guess it's a man made product it's designed to break at some point. Things could always be worse...:shakehead::shead::waiting:
Thanks ! I love the little storyline...lol It'll be alright ! These things just happen at the most inconvenient times....Like when I have no extra money... Wait, that means any time would be inconvenient..lol :thud:
Ah man this is terrible! I have my truck covered bumper to bumper to 90,000 miles and i am always worried about this. I wouldnt count on them to do this, especially now in the crisis....i would be prepared for them to have you bend over so they can run at you from 30 yards..no lube either
LOL I can already feel the pain from the service manager to the mechanic just takin' turns on me.... there is always an alternative ....anyone know what the going rate on a stick of dynamite is these days. just on a reality note, I love the truck and if I was to buy another truck I would have one just like the one I got maybe just get the new body style. I guess my number just came up in this game of life. Hopefully GM can help in someway the service rep said they have taken care of situations like this in the past being that my milage is within 1200 miles of expiration on 100,000 mile warranty. We'll see. If they do cover it I will be shocked. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best !
They said it was a bad wire harness of some kind and the truck was only firing on 2 cylinders. GM covered the parts and the tow I got out of this for $250...Thank God ! That was scary !:thumb::thumb::thumb:
GM has lots of issues with the injector harnesses on the 04.5-06 models. Good thing they took care of you.
I'm glad to see they (GM) took care of you. Times are tough for them right now. Good to see there still taking care of their customers none the less. :thumb: for GM.
I am glad they took care of this ! It may have helped when they looked at my record there as well. All my oil changes etc. We also bought a Z71 Suburban and a Tahoe from them over the years. Maybe that helped some but who knows. I am just glad $ 250 and off I go. I honstly thought by the sound of the motor that I was going to get into $1000's.
That's about right ! My bill was $289.00 total and that covered half of the parts and they covered the other half, labor and the tow bill or something close to that... I consider myself pretty lucky !
