Who cares what a machine says as long as it is visually appeasing to the eye.

I agree! In the end, what matters is the subjective opinion of each person and more importantly of the client.

This is so true. I couldn't agree more and I always hope to feel as good as the client. That way I know that they are truly happy...:thumb::thumb::thumb:

Well, over here some companies use gloss meter reading as 1 of their marketing tactic..some claim a guaranty of 18 mths shine after detailing then keep record of the gloss meter reading as prove. If the reading drop by 10 within 18 mths, the company will do a free detail.

    Did I miss something?

Why would you apply an LSP and THEN machine polish the paint and then do a test on how well the LSP lasts?
    :shead:

BTW heres a pic of a glossmeter on a silver Z06 reading 100+.... the car is wearing GI Signature Gloss

Interesting though. I can see some use for this machine, but not in the detailing world, but more for the makers of polishes and LSP's to test and improve their product.

Bingo! I mean honestly if any of us were to fully correct a finish and then apply LSP and take a reading with the gloss meter and find out its less than we had hoped what the hell are we going to do about it? For product companies its a cool thing to have but your dead on right about it being a waste for detailers

Before I really wanted one of these units, but as my wax collection grew and continues to grow I finally came to the conclusion that gloss, depth, wetness ect...ect...is really a personal opinion. It's so subjective, I mean I sometimes wonder if everything is in my head. For example, every time I use Vintage I see something different...now I ask my self, is there really something there or is it all in my head, or is it because I know how much Vintage cost therefore it has to look the best  All those things go through my head every time I use Vintage...well used to go through my head, now I just simply enjoy using my waxes and enjoy what I call the Carnauba glow.

As for using this unit to charge more, well to each there own
