Well, thanks to George aka Ghost28, I've been thinking of getting a PC. Here's 2 that I'm looking at from TigerDirect.

This one has a Linux OS. Anyone know if I should stay away from this?? I know the cool thing about Linux is that most viruses are built for Windows OS (or use to be). I just dont know many ppl using Linux.
Not that I've read on it more, you might be able to use your own OS. That would really make me wanna jump on this kit like its the antidote for somethin!

    Visionman VBBA-278V00 Barebone PC - AMD Phenom X4 9550, Asus M3A78-CM, 4GB DDR2-800, Gigabit, DVIDisplay Port, Flash Reader, 585W,Assembled at TigerDirect.com

Here's the second one that I'm looking at. I know I'll have to get a DVD burner/drive, an All-in-1 card reader and a video card. The stuff thats inside looks pretty good. I'm thinking about running Windows XP (cough cough George) hehe.

    Asus M3N78 PRO Barebone Kit - AMD Phenom X4 9500 Quad Core Retail, 4GB DDR2-800 Kingston, 500GB SATA2, Clear Side Mid-Tower, 650W PSU at TigerDirect.com

    George rocks

My sale ad is helping to finance this venture. Any contributions are welcome =)

    Thanks for lookin,
    Heath

Hi Cooter, I run a dual-boot on my computer, Ubuntu and XP. Ubuntu is MUCH more user friendly than the regular Linux and it's also free. I'd be a 100% Linux only user if I wasn't so dependent on Photoshop and Dreamweaver. I know there's several programs out there for free that are similar to PS and DW, but I just don't have the patience right now to sit down, map them out, get used to them, etc. Nice PC by the way (the first one), it looks similar to mine :).

Linux systems tend to run a lot cleaner and require less system resources to run. Whenever I code in C++, I'm usually in a Linux environment as it makes debugging a lot simpler. It really comes down to preference really.

I would personally avoid dual-boot systems as you can be better off with using VMWare which can emulate another OS if you desire utilizing more than one OS.
