I strongly urge all of you to check your bank account history if you have ordered business cards from Vista Print. They have a 10 dollar cash back option with all kinds of fine print BS which is a scam. I am going into law school and meticulously read through all of the contracts and agreements before I ordered the business cards. They illegally charged me through a company called Passport to Fun for 14.95 a month. Clearly a scam, the first option you get on the phone when in their automated service is to CANCEL, I mean that really gives the whole charade away. What company offers you to cancel up front like that? Call the company, demand a refund, they'll say they can only give one month back, ask for a supervisor and it should get worked out and a refund within 5 days. They haven't heard the last of me. Game time.
I have gotten cards from them and never had that charge or any other. I look my bank account info almost everyday or every other day. But still good looking out.
Weird I just ordered from them and everything was great. They had this huge sale for like more than 50% off so I went for it since Im trying to get into mobile detailing. I just checked my statements and they only charged me the exact amount. I didnt go for any cashback option though
I have also gotten cards from them before. A lot of people I know does too. BUT I will look out though, thanks for the heads up. I am pretty paranoid when it comes to scams/CC/online stuff. I cancel one of my CC last year before I was worried...lol
Also, yes I didnt do any cash back deal, I am always weary of it. They always run some sort of crazy looking promo but it just comes down to that is there normal price.
I didn't do the cash back either but they still charged me. The other company has never contacted me, definitely a scam. Anyways.... "I've recently found out that your company has used deceitful tacits and illegally used my account to fund Passport to Fun for two monthly charges totaling $29.90. I specifically remember meticulously drudging through your offers while in check out and making sure I did not click on any offer you provided, yet you charged me anyway. I've come to the conclusion that I won't simply tolerate it and a refund of my money will not suffice. I called Passport to get my money back and the first option they give me is to cancel my account. If that isn't obvious that the whole company is a scam then you must be dull. Whether or not you are directly affiliated with them or not, I'd suggest you think twice about your next business venture. I belong to a few websites that are comprised of small business owners who run websites and need business cards, totaling about 2,500 members per site. Have you heard of Better Business Bureau? What about Temple University with 35000 students? I don't think you need to be a rocket scientist to figure out what I'm going to do next, do you?"
Excerpts from wikipedia... In the USA, Vistaprint has been accused of enrolling customers into Vertrue's paid-membership reward plan without the customer's agreement. Credit card details are passed on to Vertrue (formerly Memberworks Incorporated) by Vistaprint, and charges are are then made on those credit cards by Vertrue without the owner's consent. Numerous complaints have been received by ConsumerAffairs.com: Knowledge is Power! Consumer news, reviews, complaints, resources, safety recalls [40] and The Better Business Bureau by consumers objecting to these charges. Some consumers complain of being still being charged after canceling the reward plan membership, and others that more than a year after cancelling membership, the charges began again.[41] In August 2008, the company announced that class action lawsuits relating to the membership discount programs offered by third party merchants on Vistaprint's USA website had been filed against Vistaprint USA, Inc., Vistaprint Corp., and two third party merchants (Vertrue Inc. and its subsidiary Adaptive Marketing LLC) in Texas and New Jersey.[45] Two additional class-action suits were subsequently filed in both Massachusetts and Alabama. The four complaints, all filed in federal courts, alleged that the defendants were in violation of the Electronic Funds Transfer Act (which protects from unauthorized charges) and the federal Electronic Communications and Privacy Act (which prohibits the unlawful access of financial information). "As we allege in the complaint, we believe that Vistaprint and Vertrue are acting in concert to access consumers' credit card information and then begin charging them relatively small amounts," said Jerome Noll, counsel for the plaintiff that filed the Massachusetts suit. "You're talking about $14.95 a month or $12.95 a month, hoping that consumers just won't notice." [46] On September 2, 2009, the company announced that the purported class action lawsuit pending against VistaPrint USA, Inc., Vistaprint Limited and two third party merchants in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, had been dismissed by the Court. In the process of dismissing the case, the Court found "without reservation" that, as a matter of law, the web pages on which the membership discount programs were offered on Vistaprint.com were clearly written and not deceptive. I have ordered all my business cards and t-shirts from them and never had a problem, but I may rethink doing more after this. Are there any other comparable companies out there?
Awww man now you got me all worried. I check everyday though regardless. Id just rather not deal with the hassle though
Thanks for the heads up but I've never experienced any issues with them. I'll keep a look out though.
