So, first, this client calls with an SUV and a five month old A8L. "There are in "like new" condotion." Okay, so, yeah, we'll do these - quick wash and wax and interior clean up. First thing that sends a red flag up for me is, "Like New condition". Next is that he asks for a "Deal". Given the fact that both cars at at his home and I've nothing to do, "Yeah, I'lll do both for $600." I'm thinking I'll be there for just a few hours. SEVEN hours later!!!!! Just gotta wonder, how often do you hear, "Like new condition" and the interior of a five month old car looks like this!!!???
Thats horrible Andy. Only $600 for 7 hours work? WTF were you thinking? Lean in just a liiiiiiiiiiitle closer would ya? I'm assuming those pics were after vacuuming. Oh, the horror!
Yeah, that came out wrong!! The price wasn't so bad. The point was kinda how the client talked me down on price because the cars were in "Like new" condition. How do people get the roof and pillars all stained???? I was looking for footprints on the roof!! Yeah, after initial vacuum, before final clean up and vacuum!!
Thats like the Harley F350 I have in my shop. My buddy just bought a house so funds are limited so I gave him a very considerable price break when he booked it in. Then he takes it away hunting for 4 days before bringing it in and doesn't have the courtesy to pwash it first. Took 3.5 hours just to wash it.
Yeah!! Is it that we have become a little more critical on what is actually "clean" or are these cars really just f'd up!!!!????
Yeah. And, you know that when they are on the phone trying to talk you down on price because it is in "Like New" condition, you're gonna regret taking the job!!!! Not, really a major job, just kinda disappointed that I fell for the banana in the tailpipe trick!!:yikes:
Umm.....well....there is ways to get stains on the roof and pillars....you know shoes...and doing well....this is a family forum so I will stop there... Nice work, and like new = bad for us OCD people!
that's like when you are shopping for a used car and they list it as 'like new' or 'immaculate'. They never are, at least not by my definition.
Kinda like a Corvette my parents went to see years ago: Just needs paint shoulda read: "some assembly required" the thing was in about 40 boxes around the garage. So, I guess the real question is: Does like new EVER mean like new or does it ALWAYS mean 'run away, run away'?
