Hey guys I just wanted to reach out to you guys one to vent and also to ask for your thoughts and prayers. This past weekend my best friend got involved in something that will change his life forever. He was drinking at a party on Saturday night and decided to drive home afterwards early Sunday morning. He was driving and lost control of his truck which overturned killing a young man who was in the bed of the truck. While my friend made a wrong choice that will change his life forever he is still my best friend and one of the kindest and thoughtful people you could have ever met. I just wish that you guys send your thoughts and prayers to the young man's family for their loss and also for my friend who now has to live with the decision he made and the consequences that followed. Thanks guys. Also, I know we joke about alcohol and stuff on this forum but I hope this is a reminder of what can happen when you take things just that much further and it impairs everything you do despite thinking your invincible. Please take this as a lesson and hopefully as a reminder. Chas
I am sorry to her about that Chas. My thoughts and prayers go out to your friend and the young man that lost his life.
thoughts to guy that died, maybe his fault or not, he made bad decision as well as your friend. sorry to be an ass but i read a lot of this on my local car forum and a lot of ppl die because somebody made bad decision. were you at the party?
I feel bad for everyone involved. Unfortunately, the burden will be carried by more than one person. The person in charge of the party should have collected keys or something and only given them back when people are definitely sober. This is what my brother and I do at our parties, 50ish people sleeping in every available floor space can be fun. I'll be praying for the family of the passed, your friend, and you. Even though it was a really poor decision, as Ken said, he will need support. He's probably going to have a lot of people angry at him, and you need to be there for him. Best of luck.
Condolences to the family of the guy that passed and strength be with you and your friend. If your friend truly is the type of guy you have portrayed in your post, I think he will have a really tough time coming to terms with the consequences of his actions. Thoughts and prayers for all concerned.
No I wasn't at the party that night, although I did have breakfast with all of them earlier. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Support is definitely what he needs, he was released today so I am gonna go spend time with him and be there for him. The way he is and how he thinks, this is definitely tearing him up inside. Talked to him last night and its tough for him. He's still in shock from it all.
Sorry to hear about that Chas. Is this the one that was on the news and the kid ran into the brick pillars? The kid in the back of the truck that died was a local football star.
Sorry to hear the news Chas. I just saw this on the news last night. Let me know if you need anything.
This is terrible news Chas, my prayers with the victims family but also with you friend as a split second choice did change his life and he cant change what happened.
Definitely not a good situation, and I hope this is a lesson for everyone who reads this. I feel sorry for the family of the young man who lost his life.
Thanks everyone, I spent some time with my friend tonight and he isn't taking this well, I wouldn't expect anyone in this situation to. He has a lot of support around him so I at least hope that the few smiles I was able to get out of him tonight made his day a bit better.
sorry to hear the bad news, R.I.P. to the person that passed away. is your friend being charged with anything? sucks man, one of my college buddies was killed by a drunk driver. she was only 21 at the time, everytime i hear something like that it reminds me of her passing
