Hey guys. I took my Dad's Mitsubishi Delica 4x4 off roading at a quarry today. I'd had prickly bushes scratching the sides and mud and stones being thrown up against the sides too I'd wanted to get rid of a few scratches on the side of the beast since we bought it, and as I had time, I decided to give it a proper machine polish, aiming to get at least one side and the bonnet done, which I did in the end. So here's the write up. Tools and products: - Washed with StjarnaGloss Shampoo. - Kestrel DAS-6 DA machine polisher - Sonax SFX- 1 , 2 and 3 compounds and accompanying pads. - ValetPRO Yellow Clay Bar (not sure of real name yet as not even released yet) - ValetPRO Citrus Bling diluted 1:15 for clay lube - Dodo Juice Rubbishboy's Juiced Edition wax. I got to use ValetPRO's new Yellow Clay Bar. I got sent it to test and review, so I put it to good use with this job. The clay is extremely soft and easily malleable. I used it with ValetPRO Citrus Bling at a 1:15 dilution rate. A really, really nice clay bar to work with and gets the contaminations out nice and easily. I made 2 passes on each panel of the heaviest compound (SFX-1), 1 pass with medium (SFX-2) and a final quick pass with Final Finish Polish (SFX-3). When finished I applied one coat the Dodo Juice Rubbishboy's Juiced Edition by hand to the sides and 2 coats to the bonnet. Before: Some of the aftermath of off-roading ValetPRO's new Yellow Clay Bar. No 'during' shots as it looked like rain and I wanted to get finished. This is after I finished machine polishing and after applying a good coat of Dodo Juice Rubbishboy's Juiced Edition. :thumb: On goes the Dodo Juice JE wax: And after: Probably one of the best reflection shots I've got on any vehicle I've done yet. No more scratches here: The bonnet after 2 coats of Dodo Juice JE The lights were machined as an afterthought, came up nicely I thought
Cheers guys! I actually really enjoyed doing it, and it wasn't hard at all as the panels are all flat :thumb:
