Today me and Chris did a black Jaguar XF. Between the heat, the mosquitos, the pollen, and the fact that Chris spent all night in AC, it's a surprise we're both alive. This car was hammered and we still didn't get 100% correction as the waterspots were terrible and still didn't get removed after PFW. They were etched bad, definitely wetsanding material that wasn't in the bill. Machine Process: Purple Foamed Wool and Power Finish White Pad and 106fa Wheels and Tires: Wheel Brightener x 6-7! Surf City Garage Beyond Black Tire Pro Power Lock LSP: Power Lock Hours: 11:30am-9pm with two guys Wheels, as usual, freakin sucked! Wheel Brightener working its magic (again, and again, and again...) Wheels finished up. Finish was terrible, the hood read 65-70 microns so I opted out of using anything heavy, wound up only using 106fa on white. Which yielded this... the car was compounded before by dealership hacks, looks like they didn't finish the compound down WARZONE featuring Road Trash finishing down on the fender, and lazy ass Sam infatuated by Makita and his favorite, the foam cannon. Road Trash finishing down, followed by his Helen Keller tape job. Some Post-Powerlock shots... ignore the random pollen Bling! Achieved by using P21S polishing soap mixed in water diluted about 10:1 with water, smaller Raceglaze brush, and Shag Rag towel Adios you PITA Thanks for looking! Mini-review on Powerlock Stuff is STUPID easy to apply and removal is unbelievable. By far the easiest product to remove that I've used. Nice and slick, looked good from what I could tell. Durability is obvious unknown. I like it!
Good times. All in all...good day. This was my first real detail. First time using my new PC as well. I learned alot and got to see alot of new products. But 11 hrs of detailing sure did suck on a one hour nap after being up for 24 hours straight.. And now here I am sitting in my own stench because im too exhauted to walk upstairs and take a shower. Tbanks for looking guys. (and posting, Kyle)
2 questions. First regarding the hood. No where did it read above 80 microns on the hood. Is it possible the factory forgot to do a coat of clear on the hood? and Regarding the water marks...is it possible that the car was put outside before the clear coat hardened at the factory?
Like I said, they had that damn Jaguar put on the front of the hood after they bought it. The dealership probably scratched it and did some crazy shit to it to remove the scratches, or at least try. It's possible the waterspots came from the dealership, but who knows.
Eh, I dont mind it. Reflect spent about 30 mins polishing that thing up. He was like a fat kid in a candy store..drooling all over himself. Ill tell you what though...Ford did right with that car. The interior is sex.
