    Hey guys

Following on from the awesome results of using Lusso oro on my solid black GTR, i was reading that one of the ingredients in lusso is montan wax, and its the montan that's contributing to that deep glow

So in my quest for an even deeper black finish, i bought the 30ml Crystal Noir off ebay UK, and am super eager to layer this over my lusso

Has anyone here used it before? There are a few threads on detailingworld but only a handful have actually used it

The utube vids do look very impressive

Looks very impressive! Can't wait to see pics on your GT-R and to hear how the application is.

Môntan wax is a microcrystalline or petroleum wax, it’s derived by solvent extraction of lignite. The earliest production of Môn tan wax on a commercial scale was in Germany during the latter half of the nineteenth century, and Germany continues to lead the world in production of Môn tan wax; some Môn tan wax is produced in the United States from the Ione lignite bed in California. The composition of Môn tan wax varies geographically with production, but includes varying amounts of wax, resin and asphalt.

The largest traditional use for Môn tan wax is in the formulation of carbon paper inks. The decrease in use of carbon paper resulted in Môn tan wax being further refined for use in the formulation of polishes and as plastics lubricants. Môn tan wax is hard and brittle and has a high melt point; its properties are similar to those of natural plant waxes such as carnauba, which it can replace.

its interesting wax ... I read on DW before, Dodojuice produced and sell exclusively to Crystal Clean company. Its quite expensive wax though, its GBP 21/30ml selling on ebay lol

Looking forward your review on GTR hehe

it is expensive given the size of the pot, but just like my Dodo sample pots, id imagine it'd stretch pretty far - 4 details at least

They use to be alot cheaper then that, but could find many of them online a bit ago. Seems like they have gotten rare so the price went up. Wish I would of picked one up just to have around.

I think Crystal Noir was based off of Purple Haze if i remember correctly and dyed black. I read the whole thread from Dom awhile ago when I came across the pots on ebay.

yeh from what i was reading, crystal noir was a bit of an "experiment" for them in using higher amounts of montan wax

either way, im eager to see what purple haze and lusso oro topped with crystal noir looks like on solid black - i dont like the sharp reflection mirror look on black, i love that black crude oil look

    Hi domino,

From what you've witnessed what waxes are best in making the black crude oil look ? Especially if you have metallic paint ?
