Is there area's on the painted surface that still have some dried polish or on rubber trims etc?

Some water and a microfiber usually work. I usually use 50-50 isopropyl alcohol and water which does a pretty good job. I usually can catch that prior to applying LSP. You won't have to polish again but you might have to re apply LSP to the sections that you spray as it might strip the LSP

APC if its on trims on a MF.

Polish on paint? I use IPA alcohol or if you use a paint cleaner before you wax that will take it off too.

Is the powerlock stuck on your paint? Or is it the Menzernas thats stuck on?

I also use a IPA to remove stubborn dried up polish. Double check when you are done though as far as the water beading and what not goes as IPA can remove wax.

Put a little 85 on mf applicator or a mf towel and wipe over the dried wax.
