Courtesy of our very own Mario@Adams - figured you guys would enjoy, not too often you see detail write-ups on a Tesla. Enjoy! This Tesla had about five hundred miles on it and needed a new car prep. This is the just released 2.5 Roadster Sport all electric super car. This particular car is worth just shy of $150,000! Car was in OK shape. It had plenty of hard water spot's and swirls that required a two stage correction. Hope you enjoy! Products used on the exterior: 2 Bucket's, Grit Guard, and Caddies Adam's prototype foam gun...soon to be released! These areas were sprayed down with Waterless Wash rather than a hose and water...can you guess why? Car was also air dried with a MetroVac Vac n Blo Now for the paint. Car had tons of holograms and swirls, and one spot were bird dropping had a chance to bake in. Car was fully clayed I started with the bird etchings first using a Porter Cable cordless drill with Adam's 4" foam pads. Yellow, Orange, and White. Results Now for the PC 7424XP. The two stage process include Adam's 7.5" Orange foam pad with Swirl and Haze Remover, followed by 7.5" White foam pad with Fine Machine Polish. The Tesla was then protected with two coats of Adam's Americana Plastic and rubber trim inside and out was then protected with Adam's Super VRT and In and Out Spray The interior was wiped down with Adam's leather and Interior Cleaner, then protected with Leather Conditioner And finally the results! Cheer's
Very nice! Most expensive Saturn Vue you can buy! Just joking, just joking... What polish did you use to get the bird etching out? Never seen anyone polish with a cordless drill, very nice!
Our standard stuff... swirl & haze remover followed by fine machine polish. The drill setup is our 4" focus pads. The kit includes a drill and DA adapter for the backing plate... on the drill its a great little setup for correcting headlights or removing deeper scratches. Basically for spot treatments... obviously not something you'd use for larger areas, but for taking out deeper scratches, nasty etching (like on the tesla) or similar issues its great.
The tire dressing looks fantastic! Which product was it that you used? I'm starting to run low on White Pearls and keeping my eyes out for something to try next.
Griots gun is made in China, we have a company wide commitment to selling only domestically manufactured goods, the only exception being our microfiber (Korean). Its the reason we stopped selling the Gilmour guns. There will be specifics posted on the new gun we're carrying soon.
Nice to know tools from you guys are all made in the USA. Can't wait, hopefully it will be a big more budget minded than the gilmour.
Great Job. I'm surprised you could get that level of correction with such a big pad on a DA, what size backing plate are you using with that?
Yea, Mario knows more about it than I do (he used to work for Tesla), but I do know that a lot of the chasis is borrowed from an Elise. Guess if you're trying to keep weight down to compensate for all those batteries what better to use than a Lotus!
