havent had time for much side work lately due to an injury and a busy schedule, but this detail was completed yesterday finally. i had been in contact with the owner for a good while about having this car detailed. anyway, no correction here guys. what can i say, i keep getting customers that take really good care of their cars. this car was booked for an exterior enhancement style detail. the car would also be degadged. here are some befores Wheel cleaning with sonax Foam action. the car wasnt that dirty, but i wanted to be sure i was not going to induce any marring to the well-kept paint This was to be removed as well. unfortunately, i could not get very much of it off at all. apparently it had been on the car for some time. nothing i did would even put a dent in it. Debadged, with "ghosting". this would be removed with Powerfinish. And here are the after shots. protection was 3 coats of werkstat AJT on the paint, glass, and wheels.
thank you brian. thanks kyle. honestly im not sure what exactly was on the side skirts. the owner said it happened after driving on a newly paved road, but nothing i had would even begin to dissolve or break it down. i could barely get it off with a plastic razorblade. i tried 3M adhesive remover, IPA, tar remover, laquer thinner, everything....
yeah i tried that too. it was one of those things where if i had more time with the car, i probably could have made it look at least a little better, but i was guessing it was going to take me around 2 hours to get it all off, and the owner and i had agreed on pricing for around 7 hours. thanks very much!
nice job on the detail, love the second to last picture. I still need to get around to taking the badges off of my a4. off topic but do you know what suspension setup your customer has on the car?
thanks phil thanks very much. the suspension is KW V1's. yes i tried tarminator as well. it didnt do anything.
Great job Billy. Richy posted in "live2detail" how he removed yellow road paint from his FX using Krud Kutter (OTC product). You might want to send him a PM. I bought some today 'cause I'm trying to remove a red stain from my interior.
topoftheline has road paint wipes. I have to get some but the problem is how often do you get these cars.
thanks pat! thanks gianni i will have to look into that. hmm never heard of those. thanks. i've always been partial to audis. thanks ken. agreed, werkstat is titties on whites or silvers. thanks man.
Nice work! It really brought gloss and definition back to the cars lines. The wheels are dead sexy and look a lot better. Did you just use Sonax or did you polish them too before the werkstat?
