Just recently completed(with assitance from the "BING") this car had some re-sprayed panels and the problems that come with that(sand scratches & tracers) along with U.V. damaged and dried out trim. After a thorough wash/clay etc.... I started with the decklid first as this part of the car is tight confines and I wanted to "Work downhill" after the correction on this part of the car. First 50/50's. There was hard water etch behind the tailights and headlights so off they came... Porsche crest removed. Abrasion on the rear bumper. After wool pad rotary & foam correction. Passenger door 50/50. Full door pic after wool rotary. A little thin on the trunklid.... Richie covering headlight connectors as we would wash after the compounding stage.
Stripping the dry trim. Tailights were marred as well. Headlight bucket area was pretty bad with years of built up crudness. Tailight bucket dirt build up. After clean up but before painted areas were polished. Richie steaming after apc application and agitation. Look what's peekin............"Big boy suspension parts= Tightness Tips needed a little attention. After. Finished pics, cloudy day with rain threatening. Tailights looking thier best.
Get a garage" .......J/K . There in Texas I know the summers are hot and winter can be cold, correcting paint outside is not advisable if it can be helped but my only advice is to borrow a garage of a family member or friend if possible as you need temp control and no dirt settling on the car from the wind.
Another great job, dismantling some of the car is such a great move. Always enjoy reading/viewing your write-ups. Inspirational. -Kody-
Looks superb - great correction work What's your method for removing 'dead' rubber trim? Kind regards, Ebbe
Bob finally learned how to correct paint, woo hoo:applause: Lol, another one in the bag, nice work on the twinnie!
Bob, Excellence as usual. I'm sure this was a little more comfortable then the "saw dust job". What's your favorite clay? Also, what is your preferred method of correcting cloudy and marred headlight and tailight covers? I know 3M sells a kit. Is that any good?
Awesome job as usual. I have been telling people that I know the best detailer in the bay area :thumb: Bobcat
