This car is a 1974 TR6. It was repainted some 25 years ago and is obviously single stage paint. You will see a shot of the pad to confirm this. The car is not in great shape and the owner just wanted me to spruce it up a bit. The paint readings were all over the map and varied from 150 microns to just under 1000. The chrome was rough so I used 0000 steel wool with System One's X3 as the chrome polish. It worked well. For the chrome that was not as bad, blue magic was used. Unfortunately, it was raining when I completed the car so the Afters are all inside, which never turn out as well for me.:shead: Total time=8 hours.

    The Process:

    Wheels/Tires/Wells:
    Tires cleaned with ARO
    Wells cleaned with Zep Citrus
    Wheels cleaned with Zep Citrus
Wheel trim rings subsequently polished with blue magic
    Tires dressed with DP gel
    Wells dressed with Adams

    Wash:
    ONR

    Chrome:
Bumpers polished wiht 0000 steel wool and X3 and followed up with blue magic
Rest of the chrome polished wth blue magic
Trunk rack removed and polished with 2 stage as above.

    Paint:
Compounded with rotary using X3 and PFW pad
Polished with rotary using DG 501 and blue (non LCC) pad
    DG 601/105 combo by hand
    Finished wiht AW

Rubber Trim and Flat Black Paint at Rear:
Treated with DG flat black and rubber dressing

    Interior:
    Glass cleaned wiht Stoners IG
    Carpet vacuumed
Leather seats steam cleaned to try to remove paint overspray-no dice
All leather and vinyl treated with 303
    Wood dash treated with 303
Roll Bar polished with XMT 360
    Steering wheel polished with XMT360
Mats dressed with Simonize tire spray

It was pretty humid out so I decided the night before to put my portable air conditioner on in the garage. This is what the temperature was to greet me in the morning:

    looks good :)

The blue magic metal polish you used, is it a blue paste, in a bottle with a flip top cap?

    Thanks Dana!

Roger..it's liquid in a bottle with a flip cap. I don't particularly like it; I can't wait till it's gone so I can replace it with some Autosol.

I was going to go off to bed but I saw your post and went and checked. It's roughly 40% full. Not enough to trade for unless there's something else you're interested in with the stuff I have listed for sale or trade. Let me know. I have listed some trade ideas on that post. I'm shot..3 cars in a 4 days. I had a 4th lined up that cancelled; I'm actually glad. I go for my next knee shot tomorrow, yippee!!
