Try using Gtech P1 to polish. Great for single stage paint and when your done, water will clean up your pads. What could be easier!

I also dislike cleaning mf. It just takes a lot of time and care. I am juat not sure if the time is worth the effort.

Can you guys elaborate on what it is about cleaning MF you don't like? I own probably 3 washing machine loads of MF towels. If they get dropped on the floor they become trash. If they get oily/dirty, they become wheel/underside towels.

I use microfiber soap in the washing machine.

Are you guys talking about removing stains from the towels? Or are you picking up contaminants and trying to clean them??

    Thanks!

Trying to remove stains, washing machine doesn't do that, so I scrub them by hand.
Amen to that, I have a love/ahet relationship with his shop, all those goodies, lol.

I hate sitting here not cleaning cars but staring at my stuff. Im pretty organized and have tons of extra towels, pads, and ready to use diluted ratios chemicals (etc). I clean my stuff the next day or my day off. having everything plan before a detail helps the aftermath.

during a detail? I hate masking tape for a detail.

I also hate draining out black water from my Mytee HP60 because depending on the vehicle, it can look pretty bad; lucky for me all I have to do is put a 5-gal bucket under the drain behind the machine and pull the lever and out it goes, no muss, no fuss..

If you dump it right after you are done using the machine, I have found its not that bad to deal with.

I use a couple of those black rubber Goodyear 3/4" hoses = 50', and they are really heavy compared to other hoses, and that is a pain to roll back up.

My Lake Country Pad Washer does all the work for cleaning my pads, so that is never an issue for me - except you have to dump that Snappy Clean solution periodically, and look in amazement at all the polish at the bottom of the bucket that it removed from your pads.

My biggest issue is this dang bad weather up here in the Northwest - should be called the NorthWet ! :(

I guess I should get in the habit of draining it after each job. I don't use mine much, so i usually wait until it's full and that can be several months of sitting!

    re: Pad Washer
How well does this work for cleaning polymer soaked pads? I.e. pads with sealants? I use the Prima system and everything but the polymer based products are easy to wash. That means, Prima Epic and Prima Amigo take a lot more work.

    Richard,

I only use Snappy Clean, an entire envelope of it in the Lake Country Pad Washer, and it seems to take about everything out of my pads just fine.
They really look clean and perform just perfectly after being cleaned like this.

I have not used the Prima Products yet but have cleaned out BlackFire and Menzerna Power Lock out of pads with out an issue.

I also throw the pads right after I finish using them in a small bucket with a mixture of water ans Snappy Clean to pre-soak them before I clean them.

The only pads that dont like the Pad Washer are the Lake Country Hydro Cyan and Tangerine Pads, but come to think of it, those 2 pads, as great as they are, dont really like alot of things - especially Rotary power !! :)

I can clean a dozen pads in a few minutes with this pad washer and my Rotary, and that for me is a really good thing.

But if you say you have a couple of washers, arent you just throwing them in and running them through a short cycle or something ??

Oh I didn't mean I had a couple washers, even though I do, I have a couple wash LOADS of microfiber, meaning I need several wash cycles to do them all. So come to think of it, I could wash my pads this way, lol. Right now, I just wash them after each job and let them air dry in my basin so by the next day they are ready for use.

I didn't know that Snappy Clean worked for polymer stuff to. I will have to take a second look at that. I really could use the pad washer, but didn't go forward because an AG Rep told me that the washer wasn't useful for washing out polymer products.

    Thanks!

I hate not having a garage and every time I need to clean my car I have to carry them to the car :(
It's a real pain to keep digging for the right products in a small closet. This reminds I have to buy some new boxes and sort them better :)

I think cleanup in general has got to be the worst thing to do. Emptying/rinsing wash buckets, rinsing brushes and other tools, putting everything back, refilling bottles of chemicals, etc.
