I need a sealant and I think I've narrowed it down to one of these two.

I plan to do some detailing of my trucks the next two weekends and plan to use Meguiars 205 to polish. I'm fairly new with this and want to use a light cut to start out

I've tried Collinite 845 but want to try a sealant this time.

Any recommendations on a solid tough sealant is greatly appreciated.

845iw will outlast them all... but powerlock and bfwd have different looks to them... powerlock for clarity, bf for depth

I got them all. And I'd have to say 845 and MPL

thankfully my JS was free :S

I find 845 to be the easiest LSP I've used. I put it on with a PC and Uber Black, leave it on until the whole car is done, and then it buffs off like nothing. I just tried it for the first time over EZ Creme Glaze and i feel that it still allowed the glaze to fill in some of the lighter marring without the solvents in 845 "removing" the glaze.

I just have to believe someone could take 845, give it a nice scent, relabel it, and sell it for 4x the price and make money if it is that good.

845 is great i put some on my truck thats only driven 3-4 times a week and sits in the garage when not driven in august and its still beading very well...my issue is i dont think i should have to go over a sealant with cold qd 75% of the time when i apply it

Backfire Wet Diamond X2 will give several months of protection I got 5.5 months out of mine and thats that I live here in the desert it gets over 105+ degrees out here, my vehicle is black and lives outside 24/7. Not only that you will love the look deep and wet!

Back to OP: BWFD (though personally i think Menz PL & WG DGPS will look just the same)

Jetseal 109: dunno something about this sealant just doesn't feel right, always missing something and there's not one strong point that i can relate to. However, it'll look great if you top it up with CG5050 or Pete's 53
Blackfire WD: act like carnauba, slickest sealant in the market, buffing is heavenly... 1 gentle wipe and you have 90-95% off the residue gone...

Another vote for BFWD. It looks less plastic-y and more 'nuba-like than most sealants and the durability is quite good. Chemical Guys make some excellent products but what I have seen of their sealants so far hasn't impressed me.

Thanks for all the feedback. After reading all this and going back to my BMW detailing forum (which I traded in to get my T4R), I decided to simply stick with 845. Bought two more bottles last night.

Hope to get to using my Meguiars 205 and then 845 this coming weekend.

    Thanks.
