I recently picked up some Four Star UPP sealant (polycharged version) since I wanted to compare it to the older version. I have always been a fan of UPP. It was one one of the first sealants I started using years ago after Klasse SG. It is probably one of the slickest sealants I have used. It is so easy to remove and put on. Durability is pretty decent. I have tried Polycharging the older version with great success and thought it was time to try the new version with the Polycharger already added. I applied it with a blue Sonus pad via PC and let it cure for about 30 mins. Removal was outstanding. I swear I could have blow it off the surface. The sealant is such a pleasure to work with and looks awesome. I love revisting old products that you forget about. Granted UPP is not the sealant flavor of the month like BFWD or Menzerna Power Lock but it still can hold it's own :rockon
I have wanted some for a long time but never purchased any. I ended up winning some on another forum used it on the Red Rogue I detailed (write up is on here) used UPP and was blown away with how easy it was to use and the slickness it had right after buffing off. The Rogue has been washed weekly by car dealer detailers and it is still holding strong 2 months later. Pretty funny a week later the owner tried installing a protective cover over the top of the rear bumper its held on by two sided tape and the tape would not stick he had to do multiple IPA and APC wipe downs he said.
Does anyone have any idea how closely related Four Star UPP and Ultima PGP might be? I was under the impression that Ultima was connected to Four Star under the Premium Finish Care umbrella.
Premium Finish Care makes Sonus, Four Star, Ultima and Gel Coat Labs. They also private label for others.
I think 4 Star is the daddy to a lot others - they have a chemical plant down in Florida. And I know they private lable for some.
isn't Ultima PGP a wipe on walk away product? Four Star UPP sounds more like BFWD, except it says it can have any carnuba layered over it and I don't know if BFWD can really layer on itself. I just got some BFWD and really like it.... wonder if UPP is better.....
I have both they seem to be the same except for color and smell other wise my guess is that they are the same chemical composition. Ultimate and four star are both made by premium car care but are different type of product.
I love 4Star UPP. Its a great product. If you think BFWD is easy to remove, wait til you try this. UPP is a sleeper product.
eShine has it on sale for 50% right now, but to ship it to the US, it's gonna cost $15.00 (same amount as the sale price). Hopefully, it'll go on sale over here in the US some time as I'm looking forward to adding it to my collection.
Has been on my buddies Rogue since May and still protecting. He was havin his Rogue washed weekly by the car washers at our dealership. Since Aug he has been using it in West VA where he now works in the mines...
4* UPP is a real sleeper and one of my favorite products. Every time I use it I am impressed and think I should use it more often. UPP is the second sealant I every used, after the Klasse twins.
