Been seeing a lot of commercials for Angie's List lately. I barely know anything about it but figure you guys might have a better grasp on it.

    They have an Auto category.

    Correction: a subcategory with detailers.

Nope its completely free. I haven't gotten any responses from it, but that's probably because I don't have any reviews on there to set me aside like some other local places do.

I am on angie's list. Haven't really seen much from it. But it's another site that lists your company for free. The more your on the better results people get when they search for detailing in your area.

I visit other forums for other types of business ideas I was looking into and this is what I read.
Most people wrote that while it is good because of free advertisement, most consumers that go on the website are too way critical on their reviews of companys and expect you to do double your normal work for less than what you normally charge.
Also, it definitely seems that it is designed for services around the house, so detailing is kind off the beaten path for that website.

    Is it like Craigslist?

No. In Angies list you get to rate them. There are a lot of "well rated" (A, B, C, D) but you do see negative comments scattered about and the angie list friendly (those who use it as a reference) do strive to do good work. It is not a place for just bottom feeders wanting low ball prices. You see all types from one man shows to large companies providing services for many areas/trades. For some trades, angie's makes you state whether you are licensed to do the work like electrical, etc so it is a regulated environment.

I always thought you had to pay to list yourself on angie's list (i've already taken advantage of some of the other free sites to list on) Not sure I'll get much of a response on there, but I listed myself now in response to this thread. thanks guys
