just so you know the body shop compounds are much better..the regular compounds are pretty much the same as xmt line and the poorboys line...the body shop line has no fillers/silicones so what you see is what you get...diamond cut 1500 and propolish are imo the CG duo that you would compare to SIP and 106ff...you can actually finish down almost the same (the exception being ceramiclears)...the difference is it is a higher learning curve, takes more passes to get the same results, and a little more dusting...but far more ecnomical...on regular/softer clearcoats like mustangs/hondas/nissans/ford they actually perform surprisingly well and those detail typically yield you less money so product cost is a LOT lower....just so you know the CG polishes perform much better with a rotary...not really DA friendly

    I would stick with:

Diamond Cut 1.5 - as a heavy compound
Scratch and Swirl Remover - medium defect removal
FP - as your final polish

if you don't have any serious defects don't bother with the 1.5, its pretty aggressive.

Wow, that's refreshing to see. Too many other forums out there will have folks do the old, "Search the forum archives (STFA)".

I really hate that too..because my question may be different than that...you hear people preach about how every car is different, and so is every question....you may have an audi and i have a Ford F150 so these are two different situations...a search will not suffice if it is talking about one or the other...im glad someone sees a forum for what it is..a place for info..sure i apologized for my question because i dont want to waste people's time when it is right there in front of me...but i was really happy to see that said..so thank you....:applause2:

That is what's great about this forum you ask a question and you get an answer.

As for the CG polishes I use Scratch & Swirl B-gone then finish with Pro Polish, if I need to step up to somthing higher I'll go for medium compound 1.5,hope this helps you.
