Here's a question for all you shop owners: Do you open up for black Friday, or offer any specials? We are planning to close and have a long weekend for Thanksgiving, but I'm second guessing myself. What have been your experiences?
I would not open a service shop for black friday unless I was a popular shop with some good advertised specials going on. I just do not see many people showing up to get a good deal on getting their car detailed...Maybe if you have a sales shop attached, like Phil...and you had some kind of special on services, I may consider having the shop open. Otherwise, I would imagine it will not be worth your while to open a shop without advertised specials and hope for people to show...
Well, I ended up having to work on Friday to finish up a few projects. I got a ton of phone calls and walk-ins wandering if we were open. I had to turn them all away because I didnt have any of my team with me, and I was already pushing up on deadlines for what I had. Next year, we will definitely be open for the weekend!
