Its a nice machine, well built with twin lights. You press the red button to turn it on and it depresses itself once you let it go. For the $150 price, its a steal, if you can live with the short cord. Now the question, vs the 3m SUN GUN? Pros: Wont heat up like the SG and turn off Less than 1/2 the price No batteries to charge has a wider range than SG entire light range is even Cons: Has a cord Short cord is not as bright Bottom Line: Its a great product for the price point, I still like the SG better, but if you can afford it, GET BOTH. Here is the comparison with SG. SG on the left, 5300 on the right
Man your on top of things bro very nice :thumb: Very nice review FMINUS :applause: Very interesting review as this machine was said to be about the same as the 3M Sun Gun in brightness? But from what your saying and what your showing us from the pictures the Sun Gun seems to be much brighter...:shead: very interesting indeed. Even with two lights? That seems a bit odd  Oh I don't mean any disrespect towards the review nor the light, I'm just saying that I was expecting this machine to perform better then what the images show that's all eace:
When I opened the box I was thinking "oh damn, this will kill the SG" because of its 2 lights, then when I turned it on it seemed just as bright, but side by side, its obvious the SG is still tops. So for the owners of the SG, rest assured your 4-500 bucks is still "well spent"
ya im surprised it isnt brighter as well. Do you have a Brinkmann? Could you compare the CM5300 to the Brinkmann.
I think Carlos already did a comparison w the Brinkmann, it was the review I used to make the purchase of the SUN GUN:thumb:
Yea but it would be good to see the brinkman side by side with the CM5300. We already know the Brinkman can't compare to the Sun Gun but I'm also curious how the Brinkman will compare to the CM5300. I wonder what kind of lights are inside the CM5300....becuase with both lights on and still dosen't compare to the Sun Gun that is shocking
Ill take a look at the replacement part numbers and see if I can get some wattage numbers of the bulbs. I wonder if the people who claimed that the CM was just as bright as the SG ever used/owned a SG. :shead: This is why instead of just hearing/reading about things, I just try it out on my own. Just like all the people who said Vintage is overpriced..... :
:support: Well thanks for trying this out. I would like to see how it compares to the brinkmann, because i have a brinkmann but was thinking of upgrading to the sun gun, but i may end up settling for this if its brighter than the brinkmann.
Well said FMINUS well said buddy, I totally agree with you :mounty: Really nice of you to purchase the machine and post up your review/opinion....now the question is will you keep the unit?
Interesting, btw I think your photobucket account is overbandwidth (might want to setup an account at SmugMug for all the pictures you have). I'd like to see how well an LED flashlight does. Or better BrinkMann vs Halogens vs CMS vs Sun Gun. Is the difference between the SG & CMS a huge amount, or minor amount.
Some pics about the Fenix: Fenix vs Brinkmann (1 beam): Fenix vs Brinkmann (2 beams): The Fenix flashlight is much much better.
interesting, care to share why you like the Fenix better. This Fenix light is starting to catch my interest at 1/5 the price.
