Cheaper Alternatives to P21S?

So are there any cheaper alternatives to P21S TAW and Gel? We all know that P21S products are great products but they are on the pricey side, at least for me anyways.

I did some light research and was thinking that CG's CWG diluted correctly could be comparable to P21S. Is there anything else out there that compares to P21S that's also not hazardous to your health? If I remember correctly, P21S is pretty safe correct?

 

CG CWG is probably a good choice.

 

After using Meg's Wheel Brightener it's not that bad but not something you'd want to use on a regular basis...but I have heard that eShine's APC is a great replacement...regrettably I never got a chance to use it but I'm just going by what others have said here.

according from ADS, Megs shampoo is not strong enough to strip wax.. its based on maintanance only but i would assume that the Megs superdegreaser would work and body solvent... i havent used wheel brightener but i have it on my list... really tempted on getting p21s taw and gel but funds is not letting me..

 

I have used Menz 7.5 Wheel cleaner and it works great. I use Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner on a daily basis. It is my current non-acid favorite. It is available in gallons as well. Autoglyms Engine and Machine Cleaner is also a good non acid choice. It is a multipurpose cleaner like TAW and is very economical when bought in 1 Gal containers. The one gallon containers are sold as "Powermax 2 or 3 " and should be available through your local Autoglym rep.

 

Hmm, I can't seem to find it on his site. I'm hoping I can find a small offering so I can compare it with my P21S.

I just washed my sister's car that I had just polished a couple days ago and did a TECnique wipe down. At first when I did the entire pre-rinse, there was surprisingly a lot of beading and I suppose my wipe down wasn't sufficient? Anyway, I decided to do a pre-soak with my Gilmour so that its dilution was 1 oz of soap per gallon of water. Then I followed that up with the 2BM with the wash solution having 2 gallons of water with 3 oz of Shampoo Plus. Rinsing it down with hose water, much of the car seemed like it was stripped of whatever was left on the car's surface as most of the water just sat on the paint. I thought that was interesting.

I haven't tried Super Degreaser or Body Solvent yet but I think I may be purchasing those soon. Plus if I don't like them, my local distributor will gladly take them back if I'm not happy with them.

Wheel Brightener is some pretty good stuff. However, like everyone else has sad, I definitely wouldn't use it on a regular basis. This is where P21S shines, hehe.

I'll look into the Menz wheel cleaner and Autoglym stuff. They sound promising.

 

Denzil, i have a gallon of Meg's Super Degreaser..would be happy to send you a sample if you want to try it out, im not sure of the dilution, i have heard people using it on tires and such and meg's recommends wetting the entire panel around the tire so that overspray doesnt cause staining of the paint....are you looking into this as like a presoak to remove protection such as that of TAW? I would be careful here because of Meg's precautions, but that is just me...let me know via PM if i can help you try this product in any way

 

Yeah, I'm looking at using it as a presoak, exactly like TAW. TAW is definitely awesome stuff and was thinking that if I can cash out on cheaper comparable products, I'll stick with them.

 

How would you dilute CWG to act as a degreaser/cleaner?

 

That I haven't figured out yet, LoL. I have 32 oz of CWG to play with so I hope I have enough to find a good mixture.

Actually I have a local rep who comes to see me every few weeks. I looked up TCP and they carry Engine & Machine Cleaner. If you want Powermax 2 or 3 you may have to contact the US distributor at radiantusa@juno.com If you don't have any luck, let me know and I'll help you out.

 

How about S100 Total Cycle cleaner??? it's cheaper than the P21S TAW ... if this is as similar as their waxes then I don't think you can go wrong...

That's true and the their wheel cleaner is similar to P21S Gel as well. Now I'm just wondering if I can get them in a larger size quantity. :shead:

Not sure what the dilution ratio would be but a combination of CWG and CG Strong wash in one of your sprayer bottles (Solo or whatever there called) would make for a great pre soak.

Are they ever gonna update there site with there new products?? They would would probably sell a lot more if it were up to date.

 

Probably not any time soon, CG is always behind with updating. A lot of their products are really "official" and most of the orders are phoned in.
