Our New President

I couldn't vote, so I didn't vote for either. I don't agree with Obama's wealth distribution, that is for sure.

 

People can say what they want cause this is open forum and free country so....


Distribution of wealth is not new, just look at the progressive tax we have now, the rich paying more in tax than the poor (dollar for dollar or pecentage just look it up), and the tax money pays for our security, freedom and education. Last time I look that sounds like distributing wealth policy already so why the outcry now???


The sad thing for me is why this has to be HISTORIC moment? From a country who is the beacon of the world? I am glad it's reality.

I know you mean this half hearlty, or not at all but i was wondering why canada? i have always wonderded this. Canada has more social prgrams, more help for the poor and less of a rich class. We cant carry concealed guns EVER we have to have a permit to own one period.
All people in Canada are equal, we hae the righ to same sex marrgie, non discrimination laws, we have a true seperation of church in stat (i cannot remeber ever hearing from a political leader that they had divine intervention or that they will bring into gods law. ok i lied there was one and he got like2% of the vote, we dont like it when politicains speak relgion) we spend millions every year helping the world from diease and famine.

Life is more socialist in Canada then it is going to be under Obama. our conservitive goverment is more liberal then your liberal goverment. Im not sure canada is the place for mccain supporters, perhaps mexico?

 

I thought of the same thing when I read his post. Canada definitely ISN'T the place for us McCain followers to go.

 

the best part of it is that all Canadians hold these to be truths. I know some of the richest people in Canada and they are glad we have plublic health care and that people cant walk around with guns. They are happy its illegal to own any sort of automatic weapon.
We are glad we have a leading party and a party of opposition (next largest party n the house of commons) to make sure they dont make a big mistake.
These are all things Canadians are very proud of. We welcome anyone so the mccain supportes can come but relize life will be diffrent :applause2::thumb:

 

you know i never saw so many people get fooled.. all obama did was lie stating McCain is excatly like bush.. when he couldn't be more different.. McCain separated himself from bush a long time ago fighting him on many many issues.. McCain is a MAN who fought for this country and always put this country first as he so prominently stated during congradulation obama.. it really is sad to see a man that has done so much good for this country get jerked around by a guy who has been in the senate for 34 years and has done nothing for this country.. he hasn't elected any bills or anything.. in three years he was only in session 178 days stating present the most not voting on issues.. and now he wants to increase capitol gains by 18%.. that's the whole countries money invested taxed 18% more.. why give the government more money.. it is a historic day because a half black half white guy won the presidencey.. why? that just separates us more b/c a black guy did it.. that is racist in itself. what a gracious beautiful speech McCain gave.. something obama could only dream about.. a man with no experience yet he is fit to run this country? i live in illinois and in chicago and he hasn't done shit for our state or city... actually our fine city of chicago has a nice 10.5% sales tax.. highest in the whole country..thx democrats!!

seriously what a sad day.. the greater man truly lost.. a man with more respect and admiration for this country than obama could ever dream.. obama has taken sooooo much money from the tax payers already taking millions from fannie and freddie.. the wo who really helped this country tank in the mortgage sector.. and now he wants to tax us literally and take more money from americans and give it to the government to mismanage.. the democrats spend much much more $$$ than the republicans.. and after the depression in the 30's we learned to NOT tax anyone.. and he is gonna tax the upper class and small and medium size businesses that have been keeping this country alive.. and tax the blue collared workers in whatever they choose to invest in for there kids or for there retirement.. how is this good?

if you look at his plans historically similar idea's has really hurt this country.. and they are old democrat methods.. the mortgage crisis was caused by the democrats alone!!! and again obama was a HUGE player in that. his idea's are pure socialism..not american not free.. he wants everything to be equal.. well if some idiot is working 40 hours a week making 40k a year and another guy is working 80 hours a week making 300k a year why would you help the guy making 40k if he doesn't wanna put in the effort.. you know how many people i ask would you work 80 hours a week? 90% say no never.. well my father grew up poor as hell on the south side.. worked 2 jobs to put himself through school.. he made it.. he still works 80 hours a week and he is 60.. i have many minority friends that work that hard too and they make 100k-200k a year working 60-80 hours a week. if you don't wanna work hard you will never get anywhere no matter how much money you throw at people.. the more you throw the lazier people will get.. today there are more scholarships for minorities than acedemic scholarships.. what does that say about us.. so if your white and poor you don't have as good a chance as someone that is black and poor.. isn't that wrong.. shouldn't it be equal.. shouldn't we as a country stop making excuses for minorites.. a black reverend stated that the mexicans have come farther in 2 generations than the blacks have in 200 years in america.. b/c they focus on family values and education.. he call obama the anti christ for all the excuses he makes for minorities.. and it is sooo true.. and these idiots saying today i am soooo proud.. proud of what? a guy who has done nothing in our government is president and you are proud b/c he is a certain color.. my black friends would smack the #$%% out of you and call you racist. and the idiots in europe are sooo PC it is destoring there c=economy.. hell in britain muslims don't have to operate on christians or the dentist who wouldn't work on a christian... i mean come on.. what is this world coming to. the media has scewed everything McCain has done for this country.. he is the most democratic republican reaching over countless times to democrats.. obama says he wants to but he never has. what does that say about his unity plan.. When given a choice between Socialism Lite (McCain) and Socialism (Obama), people will pick socialism everytime. You can't me-too leftist ideas. McCain had his good points was an awful candidate. He was my next to last pick in the primaries. Crossover Dem voters in the primaries and Hucksterbee killed off the last half-decent candidate (Romney) ensuring this poor choice. This was uphill all the way. From Bush's inability/unwillingness to lead on domestic issues to McCain saying things like he'd pick Andrew Cuomo for Treasury to the terrible handling of Palin. Only Huckabee was worse.

President-elect Obama got 63 million votes - just what W got in 04. But he won by 5 million. Where did those votes go? A number stayed home. Plus, there was a number of non-political types who thought it's time to elect a black man. Plus, Obama looks and sounds very Presidential. For many people, this was the only equasion made. These people might not have signed up for socialism or even know what it is. But most won't like it if (more like when) it comes.

Its disappointing but not surprising to me.

Let's see how he governs. After all, he won the election fair and square. If he's a stellar Democrat who is honest and consevative like Harry Truman then he's easily in for two terms. If he's a clown like Carter, then he might just be a one termer. But, I'm pretty sure he won't get the luck that Clinton had where no real disasters raised their head.

He's got the world's toughest job. I wish him luck, but like the Chinese proverb says, we're going to live in interesting times.

Obama's completely unqualified for the job with no experience at running anything. He is a very good speaker but it’s going to take a lot more than that to make a good president. I see him as a typical blood sucking layer politician who makes all kinds of promises they can never keep. Talk is cheap. I don’t think he has a clue about what he’s in for. How could he? He has never done anything.

I believe in less government and people taking responsibility for their own life. I see him taking the country more towards socialism and a country of welfare recipients.

I find his comments about disarming our military alarming.

His close associates are some of the most radical people in the country. He also has known associates with ties to terrorist organizations. The philosophy of the church he went to for 20 years is very racist. I have a lot of concerns about want he really stands for.

I would also like to add that my dislike for Obama has nothing to do with him being half Black. I am white but I have many close black friends and my wife is Asian. I judge people on the type of person they are and what they stand for.

I hope I’m wrong about Obama and I’m certainly not sorry to see Bush go. I don’t care that much for McCain but I saw him as the better of two poor choices. McCain certainly ran a bad campaign and Obama must have out spent him 4 to 1. I’m sick of hearing about the election so at least it’s over.

 

Like it or not, Obama is your president if you reside in the U.S. and are a U.S. Citizen. While you may dislike the outcome, all you can really do is hope for the best and do your best as a U.S. Citizen or move to another country.

I'm not making this statement to provoke any verbal disagreement but rather to speak the hard facts. I really do wish the best of luck for our country and I'm sure other countries do as well. :usa:

I am for one scared... on the whole socialism thing, when McCain said that Obama would lead to socialism, Obama called it "opportunity" What kind of opportunity does that present?

I'm happy that OBAMA WON. I agree with disarming plan and all his ideas. I've been praying for McCain to lose. I don't think he's a hero. He fought in a war that america lost and what's more he got cought.
