Well I finally got all the pictures and videos together, videos took for ever to upload...um..I got carried away with the videos  Any who with out further delay, lets get the review started. First up here are all the items I'll be covering in this review, first up the new eShine Backing Plate: (The eShine Backing plate is the one with the Black Foam) Next up, the new and improved blue Riccardo Clay Bar: These are the peaces I'll be using: The first video is a walk through and a semi comparison of a few items: www.detailingbliss.com/downloads/desktops/eshinesreview/eshinesreviewpart1.mov Okay well know it's time to put all the goodies to the test, lets see which should we start with. Right, lets start with what I've been waiting for the Blue Clay. Again the comparison was that I clayed half my Volvo with the Yellow Riccardo and the other half with Blue Riccardo. The clay lube of choice was Riccardo Clay Lube which, really does compliment the Riccardo Clay bar. Very interesting clay lube to say the least. Here is a video of the claying process: www.detailingbliss.com/downloads/desktops/eshinesreview/bluericcardoclay.mov Now I know it was hard to see how the clay bars were holding up all thanks to my lighting system not arriving on schedule :wall:. Any who here is how both clay bars finished off: Now the most important part of a review, the opinion of the person conducting the test/review. My opinion about this new clay bar is that I'm very pleased with the clay bar. This new Blue Riccardo Clay Bar is much easier to amipulate compared to the Yellow Riccardo, I enjoyed that. As soon as I felt the Blue Riccardon in my hands it felt really soft and it was easy to manipulate. Also, the Riccardo Clay lube was very impressive and I'll continue to use this clay lube. Most importantly, this new Blue Riccardo version has a slight advantage over the Yellow version, when I say slight I mean in the bite it has. Now for a negative, well the only negative I could think of this Blue Riccardo clay bar is that it's hard to see exactly how much contamination your picking up due to the colour. The yellow shows all it's contamination, blue you need good lighting and a good set of eyes to see the contamination...but that about the only draw back I could think off  Okay moving along to the next item to test. I was looking forward to this one too, the eShine Black Foam Backing Plate and instead of me going on and ong :bla2: about it I thought it would be best to due a video about it, so here you are: www.detailingbliss.com/downloads/desktops/eshinesreview/eshinesbptothetest.mov Now for my personal opinion on the backing plate. Well I think Chris is on to to something here but like I said on the video if Chris could adjust that Black foam that wold do it for me. But the backing plate delivers even pressure through out the foam pad, only thing as I said it, the foam needs to give a little bit more. Next up, eShines new wax. Again I'll let the video help illustrate my thoughts on this: www.detailingbliss.com/downloads/desktops/eshinesreview/eshineswax.mov Now again my apologies for the poor lighting but I'm still working on it, that and for the no otdoor pictures. We had a dump of snow this weekend and there was no way I was going to take the nice clean Volvo outside :shakehead: Any who the wax, I was quite pleased with the wax. As stated on the video I had a bit of a hard time removing this wax because I enjoy applying a thick coat of wax :crasy: But to be honest I've had worse, so that didn't bother me too much . I was quite pleased with the end results, very satisfying. Oh one thing I should note and I'm sure I did note it on the video, is that I applied the wax to the entire car prior to buffing it off, I'm sure this made it a bit hard to buff off the wax as well but I had no directions and I've applied my share of waxes in the past, I used what has worked for me  Well all in all I'm very pleased with the samples I received. I can't wait to get my hands on some Blue Riccardo and I'm looking forward to the next version of this Black Backing Plate :thumb: As for the wax, I'll be doing more comparisions with the rest of my large wax collection to see where this wax fits, that and durability, i'm quite curious how long this wax will maintain it's shine :waiting: Oh by the way, I used the steamer the entire day Saturday and boy did I have fun. I gave my Lexus a full steam bath inside and out boy what a machine :druling: :druling: i'll do a review on that soon too, had way too much fun with the unit and I totally forgot to record my self playing around with the steamer. I'll say this, this machine does an incredible job on the leather, door jams and well everywhere :thumb: Update November 25, 2008 Just thought I'd post an update on the wax. On Saturday November 22, 2008 I took the Volvo to give it a good rinse and I was quite disappointed with the lack of beading from the wax. To show you what I men I had the wife snap a few pictures with her iPhone, here you go: It was more sheeting then beading but regardless of beading or lack of, the wax was holding strong..mind you it's only been a week. I'll update as much as I can but so far it's not bad, it's protecting...but I wish it had more beading just me though
There, all videos are up and running :thumb: Sorry for the lengthy videos...I get a little carried a way some times
Glad you enjoyed it Denzil :thumb: Glad you enjoyed it :thumb: Um..what do you mean true foam? Are you referring to the backing plate?
I emailed the BP vid to the manufacturer. We will try to get a lighter foam. It is actually urethane.
Really great reviews Nica, I won't be commenting on the wax review for mine is up by tonight...:thumb:
I think you said it didnt feel like true foam and at the end you said thats that. I thought it was funny. But your videos are great though, not to short, not to long, great material, whos writing your scripts?
Carlos..when I used the Riccardo lube, I found I did not like the smell. In fact, the more I used it, the more it bothered me. I switched back to ONR which did just as good a job, without the putrid smell. I know odours are a personal opinion item, what is offensive to one may not be to others. I was just wondering what you thought of it. I agree with you on the Riccardo blue, though..it rocks!!
Very nice review carlos I love that you are very thero and even take the time out to make the videos. Now I going to check back waiting to see your review of the steamer and I hope you got some videos for that as well. I am liking the wax and am awaiting durability and comparison updates. Thanks again for the review, -Corey
ooh nice, look forward to part two :cheer: Glad you enjoyed it eace: Thank you Buddy, I too enjoyed your review eace: Oh I gotcha lol..yea my writer isn't very good lol I'm all over the place some times, glad you didn't mind the videos. Hopefully I'll improve on the videos. I do sometimes wish I had another person controlling the camera, you know zooming in and out..but then again I'll probably be too shy to have someone stare at me...pst...I didn't do so well in drama Thank you matrix, I think videos are great to help illustrate things or how to do something. Besides I'm not very good at describing things so what better way to do it then to capture it and show it to everyone to see. Yea I noticed the smell too but I just ignored it...what I did find interesting about the clay lube is that I felt it a bit thick. At first I felt as though it was effecting the bite to the clay but after a wile I didn't mind it. To clay vehicles I usually use just playing warm water but I didn't mind this Riccardo lube. I'll use it some more and see what else I notice. Glad you enjoyed the videos, I felt posting the videos was much better then me typing a book, besides I seem to be gifted at :bla2: :bla2: lol  As for the steamer, oh you bet I'll make some videos of the steamer in action, it's a great machine and it makes quick work of the interior, specially leather interior :thud: As for the exterior I used it exactly as a pressure washer and it did a great job on the entire exterior wow impressive machine. I'll keep you posted.
yes..i couldn't load your last videos either..i haven't had any problems in the past but lately i just can't get'em to load  ..do they load right away, maybe i'm not waiting long enough ?
Well depending on your internet speed it may take a bit to load...click on the link and a new window should open up, leave that window open for a few minutes and see if it loads up. your the first person to say they videos aren't working so I assumed the videos were working. Keep me posted buddy, as if they don't load up for you I'll have to go back and see what the issue is.
