As promised, here is my review of the wax sample I got from Chris at Eshine. The donor car. A Z06 Corvette. Sorry, its all I could get on short notice! Where did this come from? Looks like I'll have to polish the entire car in the spring. Darn. The Challenger. Riccardo wax. Smells nice. Light, grainy texture. Melts very easily in your fingers. Toys for today. 3M Sun Gun, Brinkmann Dual Xenon, Riccardo Wax and high tech application tool ( spoon from my lunch ), German applicator pad, 530 gram towel from Classic Motoring and Poorboys Black Hole glaze. Wax drying on hood This small scoop is all I needed to wax the hood, front bumper skin and both front fenders. Towel of choice today was the 530 gram from Classic Motoring. I didn't like this towel when I got it because it was soooo thick that unless the paint was burnished dead smooth, it would fold over on itself. After a couple washes, its working fine. Very nice towel for buffing. Wet. Period. The Champion. I have yet to find a carnauba wax that will make flake pop like this stuff. Results. More wax drying. Exciting. Isn't it? More results Some flake for you. Thats all I used to wax the entire car including two coats ( one of which was "Nica thick" )on the roof In summation, I like it. I think with a little tweaking, this could be a very good wax. The only concern I had was how hard it was to apply on paint that hadn't been clayed and/or polished. After applying PB Black Hole to one panel, the wax did spread quite a bit easier, as it did on the roof when I applied the second coat indicating that prepwork before using this wax would be a must. . Letting this wax dry before bufing off is the kiss of death. I'm sure the durability will be good because if it dries before buffing, its a major PITA to get off. I'm glad I read the other reviews first. I found that applying wax to a couple of panels and waiting about two minutes was perfect for getting the wax off easily. I even did a couple of panels where I buffed immediately after applying the wax without problems. This waxed produced as much flake pop as my favorite, Blackfire Midnight Sun. The weirdest thing about this wax was, as reported in a previous review, that it totally mutes the paint when its applied but then gains depth and shine after a short while. After I applied it to front end and then buffed off, the paint, in all honesty, looked like crap. But I continued on and came back to the hood a little later and wow! Wet and shiny. Neat trick. The wax spreads on very thin. I only used 4 scoops like the one in the pic to wax the entire car. Congrats Chris, it'll be a beauty when it's done. Thanks for looking. :awesome::dbanana::awesome::dbanana:
Based on a few reviews we are going to reduce the oils in the wax, this will make the wax easier to remove even after allowing to haze for a while. There is also a polymer in the wax that takes about 10 minutes to set up, I believe this is why the surface looks better after a while. We are going to try another polymer and see if that helps the wax look good as soon as it is buffed.
nice review. How long do you find the midnight sun to last? I really like the sealant, want to try the paste over it.
my pc must be running on the slow ,but i did get a chance to review the video on the BP and it appears the foam dosen't have much give to it maybe over time it'll soften up
