So is this package deal from Costco worth $749.99? $150 OFF Canon Rebel XSi 12.2MP 3.0" 18-55mm IS & 75-300mm Lens
I would get a similar package off of ebay. The trick is use Microsoft's Live search to search for Canon XSI and the use the link on the top of the results to go to ebay and you'll get up to 15%, 20%, 25% or even 30% cash back from Microsoft. They have been changing the percentage (looks like it is 15% today) but I have seen it as high as 30%! I'm waiting for at least 25% to come back to pull the trigger on a 40D package on ebay.
That's what I'm waiting for to buy a Fender Blues Jr. amp. The xsi can be had for that price at Target right now.
750 is a good price for the Xsi..that is the lowest i have seen...and from what i hear it is a great camera!
The camera and kit lens (18-55) are awesome. Personally I skipped on the cheap zoom lens and am saving my money for a Canon 75-200 F/2.8 L :headbang:. Much better clarity and build quality. Yea sure it's a lot more money but well worth it in the long run if you intend on ever taking photography seriously.
Just as an FYI, you can get the XSi kit (w/ 18-55 lens) for $650 at newegg.com, and less at other places. When I got mine a few weeks ago, NewEgg was cheapest at $650.
Yeah I'm totally aware but this particular package includes a 75-300mm EF lens in addition to what is normally the kit package sold by many. Plus I wouldn't find myself purchasing it at NewEgg as I'll end up paying $50+ in taxes which is exactly what I don't want to do, LoL.
That lens by itself sells for 199 at Target. So it's worth it, as far as getting a good price. I have no idea on the quality of lens. It might not be worth it if the lens is crap.
Yeah, I haven't read too much about the 75-300mm lens. That's what made me wonder if it was really worth it. I was also thinking of just getting the body by itself since my sister tells me she has an extra Canon EF-S 18-55mm lens sitting around. I think that may be my cheapest route, even better if it's a used XSi.
I'm in the process of getting a custom strat made right now I haven't owned an electric guitar in over 5 years. I'm overdue.
