Ok, to start with, both Carn and myself felt we could have done better here, but time ran out and the weather was terrible.:iono: The dust just fell on the car after every wipe. (PE Wind) Anyway, the client said he was very happy and said he will bring it back in a month or two for another go. First wash and de wax with Sonax de-wax. De-wax washed off with Megs Gold Class. Car clayed with Megs white clay. Car re -washed. Dried with WW towels. Polish via Presta and Wool Pad Follow up polish with Flex and Menz IP. Car rewashed. Sealant Megs 21 Final wax with Sonax Extreme wax Heres what we were greeted with: I did do the engine but never took pics. The wash The clay Circles in the sand. Oh, wrong song Dirty Badge Due to original stickers being removed some ridges remained in the paint where the paint had dried next to the sticker. This had to be wet sanded. Carn cracking down on those ridges. After some Rotry lovin Some random Afters Clean badge Thanks for looking.:thumb:
Thanks for the comments :worship2: What else can I say except for what a PITA 2 days of detailing Saturday afternoon we were battling to remove the sticker residue and wound up resorting to wet sanding the front and rear bumpers inbetween washing to remove the dust that was constantly being blown all over. Sunday was ice cold with pumping winds and overcast skies and the damn dust again. Needless to say I think this one will go down as one of my worst detailing experiences to date ! Anyways I think the car came out alright at the end of the day but could still use some work here and there. Here are just a few of my pics to add : Rear end sticker residue After wet sanding to even out the paint and remove the gunk And some afters after polishing And finally some random shots from around the car Those are the only full shots I have of the completed car, maybe Rustbucket has some more .
Oh yea I see what you mean on why you guys say you could have done a better job :shead: Seriosuly though the car looks great awesome work :thumb: :thumb:
I actually used some 2000 grit on the inside of the pipes. Just to get the major filth off. Then just started polishing it up with Sonax chrome paste.
