So, Carn and I decided we would try some new Autoglym products on my wifes car. ( I was racking up browny points.):woo: Products used were: Megs Gold class wash Megs trim detailer Megs quick detailer and clay Megs wheel brush Megs gold class wax Megs tyre gel Sonax mag cleaner Sonax de-waxer Autoglym super resin polish Autoglym super gloss Autoglym quick glass Holtz aluminium and chrome polish Assorted mf cloths buckets and lots of elbow grease:sos: The offending car was first dewaxed and the tyres and mags washed. Was shocked how dirty the clay was for a new car. This was just the bonnet.mg: Car was then re-washed and the polishes applied. The super gloss followed shortly and afer waiting for it to dry, buffed off and the wax applied. Finished off with quick detailer. Reflection shots Some finished shots Though it looked good. Many of the methods we used were taken from you guys. Thanks :applause2:
oooooooh shineeeyyyy Are you boys training up to run that mobile business? I'd love a review of that Sonax stuff.
Very nice job! The paint has a nice shine the rims and tires look great. Now you know why we say you can make a car look better than new! :claping: I have a suggestion. I don't know if you did anyting to the engine, but since it is new give it a quick wipe down and say on top of it. I wipe mine down with every wash. That way it is never a big job!
Thanks sneek, the Sonax dewaxer and the mag cleaner both work really well. The de-waxer I can't really compare to anything considering it is the only one we have used. The mag cleaner is without doubt the best I have ever used though. It is non acidic so it's safe for all wheels and is alot better than the Meg's hot rims and one of the other meg's mag cleaners we have used. You spray it on when the rims are dry and leave it for a few minutes to work. It actually starts turning a purple colour when it's lifted the brake dust, ect from the rims and you can then rinse it off. If you use a pressure washer you rarely have to go back in with a brush to remove the rest of the brake dust unless it has some serious build up on the rims. We'll make a plan to do some rims with some pics tomorrow and show you the results. We don't have a pressure washer yet but will show you with just a normal hose and adapter what kind of results you can get from it :cool2: Edit to add : Thanks Tonya, the motor was degreased and rinsed off....the only thing we never got to was the interior although it's pretty much tip top just needing a vacuum tomorrow :coffee:
Vehicle looks great Rustbucket that's an intereting vehicle, can't say I've ever seen that type of vehicle before...so what kind of vehicle is it? Is there a full picture of the vehicle? I like the curves it has. Thank you for sharing the detail with us :applause2:
Thanks, I actually did clean the motor, but didnt take pics. Actually that is the best. Keep the motor clean and it doesnt have a chance to get dirty. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks Nica. Its actually a Dihatsu Materia. It has a Toyota motor in it. I believe in other areas its called a Scion. Better pic from the front.
Sneek, here is a comparo we did between the Sonax wheel cleaner and Meg's Hot rims and over here is just a quick review of the Sonax wheel cleaner on its own. Yep Klumzypinoy, the car was polished by hand with a combination of a MF applicator pad and an Autoglym polishing sponge.....we can't wait to get a machine and to see how it fares. Thanks Wolfpacker, much appreciated !
Really a Scion, I don't know I've seen the odd Scion here and there but that vehicle looks different to me I could be mistaken though. Oh and yes I agree you did that by hand :eyebrow: that's impresive in deed well done :cheerl:
