I have 2 waxes: AG HD and OD Buttery Wax (liquid). I currently have 1 coat of OD Hyper Shine Sealant and OD Buttery Wax on it and am not really into the results. I mean, it looks very good, but I am after something more.

Like I said, I just got some HD and like the way it made my fiances Jetta look. I am planning on getting some DG 105 soon. I was thinking 2 coats of 105 and 2 coats of HD should give me the desired looks, protection I am after.

    Any thoughts or pictures appreciated.

105 or Colli 845 topped with AG Hi Def will look awesome.

dg501 before the 105...makes white look whiter

I say a couple coats of Collinite 845, very glossy and bright:

DG AW on top of anything will give you a super wet look.

Does the paint need to be prepped first?

    It is ten years old.

White looks great when done correctly.

Nice looking white guys. I think I am going to use DG 105, AG HD, and then a final wipe down with DG AW. I think I will be set to be honest.

IMO the biggest steps on a white car are to get it 100% preped first. With any job the prep is everything but white may hid the swirls and scratches better than most colours, it doesn't hide any of the contaminents that sit on the surface.

White shows everything, rail dust, brake dust, tar, the paint starts to yellow slightly from contaminents and it is imperitive to get everything off of the paint first.

I just did a one year old S5 that is daily driven in Alberta Canada and has been babied. I did 2 heavy washes with CG Citrus was and Gloss, clayed it with ultra-fine clay, deconaminated the paint with Iron Cut, then did a final CG Cw&g wash, dried the car with a master blaster then applied SW Cleaner Fluid then 3 coats of SW Sheild.

The white is just so crisp and clean looking now.

I agree that proper prep is crucial. On all white vehicles that I'm not polishing I do a strong wash, clay, DG 601/501, DG 601/105, final wipe with DG Aqua Wax. Occasionally I apply Collinite 845 after DG 105.

Prep then follow up with AJT.

Yeah, I agree with the prep, but I think that's true with nearly every color or car. I am thinking since my 105/205 didn't do the trick for removing nearly any of the scratches (not really sure why...probably technique or something), I will try the Scholl compound JL is sending me and then top with DG 105, DG paint cleaner (forgot the number), and finally throw 2 coats of HD on there. My cars paint looks awesome, but the swirls and scratches are killing me when I see it in the sun.

Well, to be honest with you "Dubbin". I was referring to the look of the car when one is not viewing directly in the sun or with a halogen. It's very slick and wet looking. Check out the Info page, as I posted some pictures up of it directly after I detailed it recently; it's extremely wet looking.

You know what bud, that was a bit rude of you to say. We are on the internet; would you have said that in real life to me, face to face? The answer is more than likely, not. I am here to learn and listen, but I do not have time to write responses to rude posts. Grow up my friend.

I don't think he was being rude. He was simply stating how your original post may be a little contradicting with no additional context. In one sentence you said the car looks awesome and terrible all at the same time. I was confused as well. No need to get bent out of shape out it...after all it is just the internet, you can't take it too seriously.

I have a white 93 Integra which took me awhile to get that wet look i was after. As previously stated, prep is paramount, and not until i layered the Collinite 476s on did i get the effect i was looking for. Had numerous comments at Honda Day in NJ if my car was just painted which it still has it's original paint.

Well, whatever the case, I may have had a few too many last night. Sorry if I offended anyone haha. Yeah, I think the key will be to work very slow and precise with the compounding and poliching and to also layer the heck out of the HD and 105.

I've polished a few cars and haven't met anything M105/M205 can't remove. What pads are you using?
