How weatherproof are these things ? I'm thinking....on the larger unit, mounted out of sight, out of mind, outdoors. Mounting would be using SS lags, etc BUT the physical build of the unit itself.....is it built with weatherproof - outdoor grade durability in mind. Or is it steel parts that will rust, etc etc over long term outdoors.

Hmmmm, the DIC-20 is a solid unit and that's even attached to the cart. The metal that you screw the housings into is painted and I think it would withstand the outdoors pretty well, but the bolts may end up rusting over time. I also thing the blue plastic casings would suffer from the outdoors over time as well.

However! :D (you knew this was coming) I think that if you were to give the unit some detailing love on a consistent basis, it'd last well outdoors. Rinse it down once a week depending on usage, spraying some Optimum Protectant+ or the like on the blue housings to keep it protected from fading/cracking, maybe some 845 IW on the painted steel parts and bolts...then the only thing I'd be worried about is the PPM meter.

hmmmm...:shead:...not sure how the CR Unit was built/designe for but I would say it's not really meant for the out doors...reason I say that is becuase of the PPM meter it has cables connected directly to the units (blue containers)...but that's just my guess, it is resilitant to water...I say that becuase I got the PPM meber wet several times and it's still going :thumb:

    Just my :2cents:
