I've been talking about this for almost a year now and it's finally become a reality. This past week my good buddy who is a custom installer came over to help me run the speaker wiring and HDMI for the LCD. Added the DirecTV and iPod dock this evening and have an OPPO Blu-Ray player on order for the family room, so the older OPPO universal in there will move to the garage. Here's the system components: - Atlantic Technology IWTS LCR 10s in-wall up front - Atlantic Technology IWTS 5s in-wall surrounds - Energy Take 8" sub - Yamaha RX-V663 receiver - DirecTV HD Receiver - Yamaha ipod dock - Samsung 40" HD 1080p LCD - HDMI cables from Monoprice.com (do not buy Monster cables and take it up the keester; buy these, I've been using them for years and they are just as good at a fraction of the price) Anyway, here are some pics: Our neighbors hand out and drink on the driveway often, so we'll get some use there and just when I have the kids out playing in the front we can turn on some tunes. They like to dance in the garage. Still have to tuck a few wires in and clean things up, but pretty stoked right now with this. Next up is the portable A/C and small beer fridge!!!:drinking2:
Nice!!! I will be getting insulation, heat, more tools, more tools, more tols, and more tools before I go HD in my garage. Someday
Very cool, I like how you got the speakers all installed, very nice....I did something similar to what you did but I installed a few on the sealing
How'd you run the wires all through the garage without re-drywalling the entire garage? Or did you? Unless the drywall patches are just done very well!!
Looks pretty good and the flush mount speakers are very clean as well. However it just irks me that you have the surge protector right next to the LCD TV, that's just my opinion though.
