I am planning on getting ready for winter by stripping and waxing my car. Last time I used Megs NXT 1.0 and topped it with Megs #16. My question is should I use NXT again or get somthing different? I have read that NXT 1.0 has cleaners, is this true? I dont think I need them, I would rather have a regular sealant. NXT is the closest sealant I have. Here is what I have to work with: Megs NXT 1.0 Megs #16 S100 Pinnicle Signature Series II Duragolss Aqua wax What would be a good sealant to go with one of these waxes on a metallic silver car? Are there any other paste sealants besides NXT?
I would say maybe FK 1000P, JW Prime/Trigger combo, Collinite 845 (a wax but heck of a durability), Auto-Balm is some crazy witch craft stuff. All of those would be great for the winter and year around protection. Can top all of those, other than Auto-Balm, with s100, #16, Pinnacle to pump up the glow a little.
NXT 1.0 sucks in terms of durability. I wouldn't use it on anything but door jambs. You will need a durable sealant if you want winter LSP. Megs #16 does well in terms of durability, but it is nowhere near Collinite 845, 915, and 476S. Another durable one is FK 1000p. Klasse Twins, Duragloss #601/105 combo, Zaino Z-2, Z-5 (both layered and ZFX'ed). Or if you just want to stick to Megs #16, layer it, something like 3 coats should do well (12-24 hours apart). I just winterized my daily driver, fully polished it with my new Makita, sealed with 3 layers of ZFX'ed Z-5, then topped it off with 2 layers of Autoglym High Defenition...Paint is sooooooo smoooooooth. I love it!!! Pics will be posted soon.
The one thing it is great for because of its durability is use on wheel barrels as you have to remove wheels to be able to wax them its nice using fk1kp as it is a high temp wax and last a long time around brake components.
