Anyone on this board have any experience with these? These seem a whole lot more ideal than the gigantic full sized DSLRs that have become so popular. The image quality of the Panasonic GF1 and the Olympus EP-1/2 are great though. Here's some samples from the GF1. 52/365 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! Stairway on Flickr - Photo Sharing! These are with their 20mm f/1.7 kit lens mind you. Runs $808 shipped on Amazon right now. I think I'm getting ready to buy one of these with my 5D money.
Noo! Get the Sony NEX-3 or the NEX-5, the image quality is superior because it uses full size APC sensor. And they run for $500-650. Much cheaper!
Great camera I have one with EVF 14-45, 20 1.7 or you can get the oly ep1 its 500.00 on costco the in body IS is nice to have then add the 20 1.7 later lots of info here http://forum.getdpi.com/forum/
I just don't like Sony's color from the dpreview pictures. I'm impressed with how well they handle the ISO 1600 and above, but I really don't like the color. The Olympus and Panasonic colors are much better saturated IMO I like the EP1, but it seems like the GF1's focus is superior!
thought about getting one, problem is they are for consumers who want travel size DSLR like camera, since there is no mirrors i think AF is not as fast and metering might be hurt a little since i think its focusing on image sensor and not separate AF and metering chips. manual focus might not work well for certain situations, just my thoughts
