A manager at work wanted his truck cleaned up, worked out nice since he works Saturdays. I picked it up at work and had it back to him when he was ready to leave for the day. Overall, the truck wasn't in horrible shape, but he's a smoker so we spent 3 hours alone working on the interior. Dash and doors were hit with Cockpit Premium, leather was cleaned and conditioned, ashtray/cupholders were thoroughly cleaned and the carpet was vacuumed once and then we laid down some odor eliminating powder that sat for 15 minutes and then vacuumed up. Once we started claying the vehicle we came across something along the driver's side lower doors, my best guess is that it was overspray. So after about an hour we got the truck feeling smooth again. Some areas were worse than others, so I hit them with some M105 while Manny used M205 on the G110v2 and a Meguiars polishing pad. LSP was BFWD, wheels got Opti-Seal, trim was hit a couple times with 303 Aerospace Protectant and tires/wells were hit with a water-based dressing twice to ensure even coverage and left for a nice (not too shiny) finish. Here are some pics. Got a new pressure washer that I was excited to use. Love the unit, foam cannon hooked right up and some Maxi-Suds got us started with the first foam. Scuff on rear passenger door Cleaned up with M105 and an orange pad Here are some after shots Thank you for looking, we're trying to get better at taking more pictures during our work. Hopefully my write-ups will continue to get better. Have a nice day. -Kody-
How do you do a full detail on a biga$$ truck like that with complete paint correction in a day? Did you have helpers I am assuming? Well done by the way!
It's just me and my business partner, no other help. We had about 8 hours into the truck. It was mostly a 1-stage polish with the M205.
Thank you. We really like the pressure washer, you can hardly even hear it. It also has a pressure regulator, so we are able to clean door jams with soap and a boars hair brush, turn down the pressure and then rinse the jams out which makes it a lot easier to produce really clean door jams. -Kody-
how do you like M205 as a stand alone polish? Ive been considering it, since it seems about the same cut as Superfinish.
I don't mean to threadjack but another good polish (with the right pad) is Optimum Poli-Seal. I have had really good one step results with that product and my Griots RO.
It's a really good stand alone polish that finishes down very well for me. I really like the use it with an Uber 5.5" green pad, such a great combo.
thats the combo I use with superfinish, awesome pad. Ill have to get some M205 to try out.............thanks!
