First off there were spots in the roof showing the OEM blue, this led me to believe that in some areas the paint was thin. So my plan of attack was 1100 rpm (lowest speed on my rotary) on a white pad with 106ff, very carefully. Here are the results, an improvement but nothing I'm pleased with. :sorry: Roof - Before: Roof - After: If you notice in some of these shots the rear spoiler is full of heavy orange peal and sanding marks. The rear spoiler, rear bumper, side skirts, nosepanel, mirrors and bumper are all the same way in appearance. Since my meter cannot read the levels of microns on these body panels, I had to approach it the same way I did with roof. I always love your threads you document the process very well. Thanks for the write up and the M3 looks stellar.
The paint is starting to fail on the rear bumper, such a shame. They're m parallels, and reps with E36 offsets, otherwise they wouldn't fit. Thank you sir! Thank you!! :worship2: Thank you for the kind words :worship2: Thanks man! Not too shabby for 212k miles. :thumb:
Great work!!! I hate when you run into messed up paint or CC and you just can't bring it back to perfect... but hell at least it is on the roof and not the hood... Looks really good... love that blue!
I know what you mean, it was the OEM color, it would have came out great. Thanks again! Thank you sir! Thank you for the kind words
Wow, for some thin, shitty paint, you made a great turnaround on this car. It was hammered. Nice work, and thats a great color :thumb:
beautiful write-up. There are few things more rewarding then bringing an older car back to new IMO. This is no different and the visual change from before to after is MASSIVE. Great job!
Thank you! Totally agree! Are they really that old hehe? I own one and I still think they are hot stuff hehe, jk of course. Thanks again! Thank you :worship2:
