I would have to agree with all saying they do it by hand, it's truly the only way to do it...not unless you remove the door handle but that could be dangerous and time consuming.

I'm sorry to open an old thread ... but I have a question ...

Do you have to finish it with another compound or you can go straight to the LSP when doing the door handles?

Whatever it needs to look good. If you used 105 I would suggest a finishing polish to bring the shine back.:thumb:

I use ScratchX with a terry cloth, and I don't follow it up with another polish. I will have to try the 105 by hand since I am polishing out my vehicle.

Depending on how bad they are, I'll use either 105 or X3 by hand with either a mf or terry. I follow it up with DG 501 by hand with mf and seal afterwards.

Whenever I find myself working behind handles, I often wonder how fingernails can induce such deep scratches??!!

M105, M205, SIP, ColorX, all depends on the paint and the scratches

have you seen the rings some people wear?

    Diamonds definitely can scratch paint...

I use either 105 or M85 (diamond cut) on a MF or hand applicator to get the scrathces out.
