It was time for my "break in" maintenance on the M5. They brought the flatbed and took my car and left me a 528 to drive. At first I was thinking "eh, bottom of the line"..... :coffee: When I got in the car, everything inside looked so cheap, nothing like the M5. But I was thinking, oh well, Ill have some fun with and see what this things got. I pretty much redlined the thing as many times as I had space to and did a crapload of handbrake turns. This "base" car can really handle! I was really impressed!!!!! I think I was just spoiled by the M, but when they came to take it away today, I was actually kinda sad...... Until I sat in my M :wicked: oh and MPG on the 528? 23MPG :thumb:
I'm actually glad to read that you were impressed with the base 5-series even though you drive the M5. That's good news!!! Looks like BMW did their homework. Love the fact that you did some good handbrake turns. What else are loaners for???
My wife was grabbing on to the seats and screaming! HAHA She got me to stop by saying "you're scaring the baby! I can feel her kicking!"
My wife likes these BMW's, I don't mind the look that they have but I know what you mean about them looking really cheap in side. I'm supposed to detail one, last time I saw it I put a good sealant on it but I'm hoping I'll be able to do a full detail one of these days if not it will be in the spring. So it handles good huh....mmmmm...interesting. So what did they do to your vehicle? Just curious ;D
Oh haha, yea right it would of been all shakey ha. Ms have to do a "break in" checkup at 1300 miles. They just change the break in oils and a regular checkup like a regular oil change
You are lucky you got a 528. I can only imagine how mad would you get if they gave you a Yaris... You'd probably be like, Id rather walk....
BMW really gives you "glued to the road feel", where M-series gives you "super-glued to the road" feel. Toyota's major problem is it sacrifices stability/handling to give you comfort. you can especially notice it in Prius, Yaris, and Echo. Plus, these vehicles are the least safest, and it's not to the way they crumple during a collision, but more due to thinnest metal possible use. Probably as thin as on a can of soda. Toyota=slow down in corners.
:rollinglaugh: I'm just giving you a hard time buddy :itsok: I don't mind Toyota and I've been thinking of getting a Toyota too. My old beater (Jeep) has way to much rust :acry2: no joke soon I'll be able to put my hand right through the passenger door :rollinglaugh: :rollinglaugh: The inline six engine is still going strong and it has over 300,000 KM...I don't want to give it up but I think I may have to :acry2:
The V6 Camry is so sluggish and large feeling! The V6 is significantly better than the I4 that T&T honda gave me to try.
I may be looking at a promotion soon and I need a car that can be on the highway A LOT in LOS ANGELES!!! Since I can be in the carpool lane alone with a hybrid..... And i was looking at the fit too! But I know if I get the Fit, Ill probably "spoon" it out and then have to end up getting another car.
