I just picked up the FK1 1000 Hi Temp synthetic wax and I was wondering if synthetic waxes such as this last as long as a sealant? And also, if I am to apply a synthetic wax and a carnauba wax, which one should go on top? Nuba over the synthetic or synthetic over the nuba?
Synthetic lasts longer but carnauba has a better look to it. You don't want the longevity of the synthetic to be compromised by something that doesn't last as long under it, and you don't want to mask the depth of the carnauba with something less deep, so this is why this method is commonly used.
I agree. And this is confirmed from the FK website, which says this about their Hi Temp wax: "Developed from a West German process called Synthesis 1000P is a blend of advanced pure synthetic materials. The result is a paste wax characterized by melting temps. of 250+ degrees, extreme hardness, extreme slickness, high gloss, and intensive wear without the quality fluctuations found in natural waxes." There are many companies that use the word wax to designate a synthetic sealant.
The shared ingredient of 'synthetic' waxes and 'sealants' is polymers, which provide durability As allured to, polymer selant first then wax
That is user dependant. We have thousands of customers who prefer sealants over a nuba and vice versa.
