Going to be working on a vehicle which has been vandalized with paint being thrown on it.:yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes::yikes: the paint seems to be a water based type of paint, similar to something used on walls. The paint is splattered all over the drivers side. From front bumper, fenders, doors, trim, roof, sideskirts, rear quarter panel, and trunk. The car is an 06IS350. Took a look at it today, responded mildly to clay bar [soft and aggressive]. Thinking about doing an ABC on the car, but would like any tips/suggestions that you all may have. Thanks :mounty::giterdone:

would that be the same as paint thinner? how would that work against the car's finish though? would it be harmful at all?

paint save adhesive remover like the kind used to get emblems off?

oh and i would think the sooner the better to remove.

there is always wet sending for the thick spots.

Just did a 2001 vette with same problem. He let it sit on the paint for over a month. I used an industrial fallout remover from car Brite which got most of it off...but I had to wetsand the thick spots

    Removing Latex Paint

Use suggested products in this order
    1. A paint decontamination system (ValuGard's A-B-C system)
    2. Detailers clay (Automagic’s Magic Clay) both red and blue grades
    3. Plastic razor blade to mechanically 'chip' the overspray
    4. D-limonene based (citrus) based detergents (P21S Total Auto Wash) may help; be sure to allow plenty of dwell time.
    5. Solvents - Dwell time is important. Start mild with (DuPont PrepSol 3919 or ValuGard's "New Car Prep")
    6. A combination of the plastic blade or detailers clay and a solvent, be patient and work small areas when practical. The painted surfaces are frequently easier than anticipated, however the rubber and vinyl trim pieces may take more time / patience.

not really if used carefully, I have used it many times to get a bunch of different thing off without any issues. laquer thinner is a little different than paint thinner but pretty much the same. you could try a cosmolene remover or wipe, I believe topoftheline.com has cosmolene remover wipes that are supposed to take road paint off, which is much worse than latex paint.
