I saw this over on another forum, but check this out. Canon Digital Learning Center - Sample Video: EOS 5D Mark II At 1/4 of the normal resolution...that is stunningly sharp looking video. It by far the best video I have ever seen from a DSLR...actually it is the only video I have ever seen from a DSLR. I am just shocked by how awesome it all looks, although the guy did use tons of very expensive lenses.
it really is amazing. I was watching this earlier today. The control over DOF in video is really dramatic. Can't wait to pick one of these up (though I don't expect to use the video a ton).
Wow, amazing quality. That's what one would expect from a high end camera. Besides Canon optics are one of the best in the industry.
LOL an easy way to justify it is ...it doubles as a camcorder! I thought it would shoot really crappy video when I saw video on the spec sheet, but I am really impressed. It is to some extent rain proof and ...who doesn't need 21.1 MP!
I really shouldn't have watched that. Do I really need to shoot 1080p videos with my DSLR?!?! I want it! I want it!
Hold on, so you can make videos with DSLR cameras now??? Since when??? I am too behind. What is the price tag on this thing?
lol..man my accountant told me I had way too many toys hahahaha...but there is always room for more :thumb: Actually to be honest I'm very pleased with my Cannon Rebel and my HD Cannon Camcorder, but to be honest it comes down to technology keeping up with the HD revolution. There just isn't good quality software to convert the HD (1080) to something usable online...well there are some but it took me a long time to find a software that works for me..then again I'm not all to good with editing images or videos so it could be just me  But now that i can upload HD videos it's wicked to see the quality...and you truly can't hide any defects, I've cot my self a few times :giggle:
Ya the videos from your Canon are pretty sharp. I think the problem is the files are HUGE and some people have slower internet. I just ditched telus and I am overjoyed that my internet is way faster. I got a really good deal so I am paying 1/2 the price of the slow stuff for 3 times the speed . FWIW I heard that MKV is a good format for HD content without creating too huge of a file.
I recently got Final Cut Pro for my Mac and boy that's a sweet program, best part the Mac can actually handle all the video editing I do, no lag like my Sony Laptop :gross: I haven't heard of MKV to be honest I should look it up...where I'm getting stuck now is I've been trying to convert the HD videos to FLV files and I've been searching for a program that will still retain the HD quality but convert the files to FLV...the idea is that I want to stream the videos on the Detailing Bliss server but slowly but surely I'm getting there...it's been taking me a wile to do this though, first hurtle was the HD conversion...I got that resolved now for phase two lol.
That is very awesome.. I do photography on film sets and often do behind the scenes footage as well, and this camera does both in one package, and it does it VERY well. I want it... If I didn't already have a 5D I wouldn't feel so guilty about wanting to upgrade :/
