What's the least durable spray wax??

A strange a question i know, but this is my plan....

My new GTR (solid black) is in need of a correction, ive done one test panel so far using 203S on white followed by 85RD on black ccs and it seems to work well enought to stick with this approach for the whole car

But i dont have the time to do a full wash, clay, 2 stage correction, then LSP etc over the one weekend as this is my daily driver

Atm my car is wearing Prima Hydro, just something quick i slapped on after the first wash last week to offer some protection in the interim

What i was thinking is doing a wash, clay and maybe do the first stage with 203S, then next weekend re-wash and complete the correction with 85RD and LSP

So my question is, what's the least durable spray wax i can apply to offer me some protection throughout the week in case it rains etc, but able to be easily removed with a high soap concentration or putting some dawn soap in my foam gun

Im thinking any mild wash induced swirls, though minimised with my foam gun etc, can easily be corrected with that stage 2 85RD

These are my current Spray Waxs and QDs (plus WG Spray Sealant not pictured), i would think a carnauba spray wax would be best

Really looking for your advise here guys, as im sure theres been a few of you in a similar situation

As for LSP, im undecided atm, but thinking of doing either the full BF wet shine kit or trying out my Lusso Revitalizing Creme (hand applied) + Lusso Oro wax

Does scheduling require you to do the 203 step now, rather than later? If not, I'd skip the whole lot, and just put down some Aquawax or similar. I think a Dawn wash will strip most of any spray LSP right off anyway. If you could put the clay step off until your first chance to do a full detail on it, that'd remove the rest for certain.

unfortunately time wise (work, gf, me time, red dead redemption on ps3, triple s, etc) id have to break up the 2 stage correction over 2 seperate weekends

i think trh is on the money in using the pin souveran spray during the week for protection. Im not fussed about the looks, i just want some protection, and even if a wash didnt remove it, 85RD should cut through a carnauba spray wax pretty easily at the end of the week

i should note my car is garaged both at home and at work, so itd be exposed to the "elements" for about 1 hour a day driving to and from work

my second question is re doing the full BF treatment. If i use BF GEP, would that mean it would replace 85RD, or does GEP offer a finer cut than 85RD? Or is it best i apply GEP by hand to act solely as a glaze?

I would stick with Hydro for a week of protection. 85rd with a grey pad should be your last step polish.

Why not use what you are already using Prima Hydro

i read all the great reviews of the liguid sovern spray wax, i was excited and ordered it got it in and tried it, lets just say its in the garbage can now what a waste of cash. I noticed not much gloss and almost no protection at all the paint felt like nothing was on it at all. It also said its a great stand alone wax. Ya ok after it rained it didnt bead at all, complete junk in my opinion i wish i could get my money back.It smelled good thats about it. My CG's synthetic detailer offered more gloss and slickness.

i say Aquawax.... I think is more durable then Pinnacle and I like the look better. Plus a lot less chance of streaking

Gloss enhancing polish will not replace 85rd, I would use after 85rd if you want more jeweling.

Ken said it just rounds off the edges off scratches, thus reducing the appearance, but no real actual correction

i just think that since it is a sealant spray, it will be harder to remove after a full week

its still beading after 2 weeks now of on/off rain and a heavy concentration of DP Xtreme playing with my new WG Foam Gun

I just strip it with some CG CWC or CWG . I don't think that DP Extreme is strong enough Or just add some apc to your soap mix that will strip it for sure.

    good point

i was thinking id put the dawn in the foam gun with a bit of xtreme foam to suds it up and let it dwell while i was wash the wheels

When I was in the situation of not having enough time to do a full detail in one attempt (which is about every time I do it), I decided to do it a section at a time instead of a step at a time. For me it worked out really well to onr wash, clay, polish, and wax the front half of the vehicle one day and repeat the process on the back when I had time. Don't know if that is an option for you but it works for me.

I saw Souveran Spray wax mentioned and think it would suit the bill perfectly because it has at most 2 weeks of durability but most likely less if used on a DD. However, if you really just want pure temporary protection, most of your regular QDs will do the job as they will add enough protection to last a week but won't leave a significant enough layer to make them hard to remove. That or just nothing at all, environmental issues and the sun won't be able to harm paint at all in a week.

To the OP: How do you like Victoria"s QD? I'm on my second 32oz. and want a gallon.

I didn't look carefully, but most of the products you have are true spray waxes. I would go with the Spray & Gloss as that is just a quick detailer and isn't necessarily designed to leave behind any lasting protection.

thats not a bad idea actually

do say half the car in full, and the rest the next week

then the following week (week 3) apply another LSP layer over the entire car just to tie it all together

    good advice mate thanks
