I'm considering buying some Zymol Concours but before I do I wondered if the forum member's here feel it is it worth the money?

If you have used it I would appreciate hearing you comments about it.

Would you pay that much for a wax to put on your personal cars?

    Your comments will be appreciated.

Well my personal view on this is that yes it's worth it but you have to know how to apply it.

Thing with Zymol products is that there is a process for applying there products and most importanatly the prep work.

What I mean is that if you go a head and purchase Zymol Concours, you'll also need HD Cleanse and field glaze. Now you don't have to get these items but thing with Zymol is that they are really high maintenance and picky. So if you want it to look it's best I'd recomend you pick up those items as well.

Is it worth it? I would say it is, the depth and worm feeling it leaves behind is quite something. I've only seen one or two products meet or get close to what Zymol delivers..but that's just my opinion.

Looks very good pirex, how do you think it compares to a care with no wax or sealant on it?

Thats a hard one Gary. Your viper is looking great just after polish. But I think the wax will give it the extra wet look and add a glow. But thats my opinion.

Oh, and my car wasen`t polished before applying the wax. Just wax here!

The quality of the pictures are completely different, different cameras, different settings, different environments. You cant compare those pictures.

Carlos, Thank you very much for your comments. I have never use HD Cleanse and field glaze. So where would I get this and how much does it run?

I have used it before, and love it. I JUST recived my 2 new tubs of it , not 10 min ago. So yeah, i use alot of it
Its good. but Nica is right. Its a bit of a bear to upkeep, but if you can commit to it, it will make your car look stunning.

No worries Gary, but I just figuired it's best to know what your getting your self in to buddy :peace:

As for the price on HD Cleanse Zymol US has an 8.5oz for $26.00 and the Field Glaze for $20.00. I'll be you can get a better deal if you look around but to be honest I'm not 100% sure about that....I mean if you phone a store up and say okay I'll take Concours, HD Cleanse and Field Glaze but I'd like a discount I'm sure you can at least get 10% off heck Diane of Zymol always gives the 10% if you ask for it.

Well just my experiance Gary but I'm sure if you talk to Phil (Detailers Domain) he can hook you up.

    Thanks so much Ketil,

I'm sure it will add more wetness and glow. I 'mjust not sure if it will add that much more then a much cheaper wax.

I appreciate everyone's comments. I really just want to be able to justify spending that much more for a wax before I purchase it.

    in a word yes...

I think people have summed up why its great.

however keep in mind what concours is great for does not show up in picks. The warmth and glow i gives is unbelivable...

I have a feeling that you willlove it. And if not sell it. Give it a few try's (I would dsay but 3-4 coats ont he viper and you will be more then amazed).. if you dont like it upgrade your account for a few bucks and sell it... then its not a total loss...or just give it to me :D

just outa curiousity...whats the concours by zymol go for in price compared to the sv concours...or are they jus 2 waaaay different waxes? (price range)

I think they are approx 175 and SV 225. Pretty close IMHO.

I also had to melt the Z Concours in my palm before applying it since it is so grainy which I wasn't thrilled with. I guess it is not bad once you get used to it but an extra step none the less. Some people will apply it with their bare hands but I never had much luck doing it that way.

Personally, I would save up the extra $50 and the get the Swissvax since it's said to be a better wax... For me, I have a hard time justifying that kind of money on a wax on a daily driver. I find that Lusso Oro looks very good and since my vehicle has not been polished in over 1.5 years, a more expensive wax will only show more defects. Obviously, the Zymol and Swissvax are fantastic waxes, but there is a place for them. On my Ford Explorer and Dodge Ram, there isn't...

    got it

...so the above posters have said about using the field galze and the hd clense...would that TOTAL price amount to the SV, jus being applied directly after polishing, or is there a few other products to use before slappin this badboy on?

    thanks!:yikes:

Thanks guys, I really appreciate everyone's comments.

If I go ahead and get the wax I'll probably try it on my black Z06 first since I have not detailed it since I first brought back in November. Since none of my sports cars are dailey drivers and I love the cars I will spend the money if I think it will make a somewhat significant difference.

I have never used any of the Zymol waxes before. So what is the recomended process for applying Concours?

For SV products the Cleaner Fluid is recomended

First you need to use Zymol HD cleanse. This is a paint cleanser.

You need to apply hd at one panel at time, then remove right away. Basicly you need to wipe it off after 60 seconds. If not it will be a pita to remove.

I applyed the wax at one panel at a time to, but big panels I did in two parts. Like the hood and roof. Then just wipe it right off.

After 3-4 hours go over the car with Zymol Field glaze, just for a final buff. One panel a time here to.

I think the big difference between the Zymol concours and Swissvax Concorso is the SV is a harder wax and you could probably get away applying it with a applicator where the Zymol is softer in consistancy and will need to be melted in your palm before applying. Atleast this is what I have heard as I do not have any first hand experience with the SV yet.
