I'd be interested but seeing as you've denied a few others chances are slim, but let me know!

I'll do it, I'm seriously interested as this is my dream car. Fawk, I'd rent a hotel for the night to do it. I have a bunch of work that's not posted yet if he wants to see prior results.

Yea man, doesn't matter to me. I do it for the love of it more than the money, the money is just an added bonus. Where I live exotics are very, very rare. Mostly just little honda's with fartcan exhaust bigger than the car. GT-R is my dream car, for some it's a Ferrari or Porsche, but the GT-R just appeals to me majorly for some reason. I love it.

Gordan Murray drove an NSX and was inspired to build the McLaren F1, thats when I became an NSX fan. :headbang:

    Oh
The F1's original engine was to be built by Honda instead of BMW too.

i became an NSX fan after seeing a decade old naturally aspirated 3.2 V6 with two rear wheels driven by a mechanicl diff smack down a V10 german power house with almost twice the power and every conceivable modern day electronic go-fast aid

    NSX WIN!!

Gordan Murray and Ron Dennis were sitting in an Airport.. I believe in Italy, coming home from an F1 race in 1988, they were both joking talking about "what if they built a road going super car"... 4 years later in 1992 the first F1 car was built and then production started in 94 (I think those dates are accurate)

In looking for ideas Murray drove lots of cars, one of which being the NSX which he said was the perfect sports car and then asked Honda to build him an engine for his car the F1, Honda said no.

This is what I remember from reading an article about Gordon Murray and the F1.

Here is another article I found which outlines Murrays points.\

He put 75K kms during the time he owned his NSX
In designing the McLaren F1 he drove a Porsche 959, Bugatti EB110, Ferrari F40, Jaguar XJ220 and others. But none satisfied their desire for a usability benchmark -- Offset pedals, high dashboards, unreliable A/C, and too-low roofs were all unacceptable. But the NSX satisfied these conditions for us.
He felt that the NSX had a chassis that would have easily accepted a larger engine and more horsepower.
"I copied the drive-by-wire throttle idea for the F1. I can admit to this now. (Laughs.)"
He set the "full auto" A/C setting when he took ownership of the car, and never touched the button again.
"Journalists focus on the aluminum body, but for me the use of aluminum for the suspension was far more significant. It's a perfect match for the not-too-large 17-inch wheels."
"Honda philosophy at the time seemed against higher cylinder counts, and maybe that's why the NSX never got a larger engine. Which it should've had. Maybe it had something to do with the self-imposed restraint on horsepower output."
"I so loved Honda engines that I personally visited the Tochigi labs twice, and asked them to build a 4.5L V10 or V12 for the F1. But they couldn't be convinced to do it, so the F1 ultimately got a BMW engine."

    ^ so true

if it weren't for the NSX, we'd still have ferrari's that rust and lambo's that only turn over on the odd weeks of the calender year

I never liked the GT-R, until I drove one. It really is just an awesome machine and does so many things so very well. Porsche guys dont like it because your getting just about all of the performance of a Turbo for 45% less money. Then again Porsche 911's are still my favorite cars.

A Porsche will always be a Porsche and same goes for Ferrari and Lamborghini. Forgetting performance figures compared to the GT-R which still runs close (to a 430 and older Gallardo) those cars have such a great intrinsic value. A ferrari or lamborghini is a statement, and a damn good one. Same goes for something like a fancy wax, we all know there are products for a fraction of the costs which do the same or similar thing yet there will ALWAYS be those who buy the elite and be totally satisfied.
