I love those Accords myself, really want '08 Accord...
fuel efficient, very reliable (I'd rather pay more for a reliable vehicle, then offer "our technicians" a job to fix later...and am very stubborn about it), and reliability really helps with a resale value...

with E70 X5 as my garage queen, I like German cars more and more. And yes, this one was built in Spartangurg, SC.

Japanese without a doubt. If I may; they're ninjas on wheels! Light, agile, fast, go around the bend without a sweat (or twisted frame).

I don't hate or dislike American cars at all, but they just don't suit my personality. I drive an imported RX-7 (RHD, built in Japan) and it is amazingly fun to drive. I've had a few Americans and didn't enjoy my experience. I would however, hands down, get an American truck if I needed to pull something. A Cummins would be nice :)

    Haha! Same here!
I wanted an all wheel drive car that had a turbo, and since I couldn't afford an Audi the next and only afordable thing for me was a brand new Subaru WRX. I planned on modding it, wanted it to be reliable and how can you beat a rally car like that for all around everything, fun, reliable, great looking and fast!
I work in a body shop and I always see the same thing from American cars. Poor build quality and cheap looking parts/interior's

    +1 for Japanese.

Nothing beats the reliability and build quality. I don't know about the new toyota/lexus models but I love the old ones.

Currently have an 01 is300 @ 130k miles. Not a hitch in performance or looks.

Euro cars are nice looking but I heard they're a money pit when your warranty is over.

Cool to see this thread from out of the vault. Look at what has happened to Toyota and their illusion of quality since that time. I honestly think there is no more gap in quality anymore. I was in the market for a new car and was looking between the Hyundai Genesis and the Lincoln MKX. The Hyundai has a great rep for quality. So I started digging and found 2 forums that had real world people, and enough of them, that were having serious problems with their Genesis and further that Hyundai was jerking them around for repairs. That stopped me looking at it. The MKX will be the first US car for me since 2004. I have had a trouble free Infiniti FX35 in that time. I just felt like a change which is why I did not look at their cars. The FX and MKX are similar but the MKX is a change for me. I am hedging my bets however and have purchased an extended warranty for it that I did not do on the FX. Time will tell. I am excited to get my hands on it; it's being built the first week of November, here in Ontario.

If I need to haul something, Duramax diesel all the way. Other than that its only German for me. Yes, they can be finicky at times but the build quality and grins per mile can't be beat. Look at the interior fit and finish in a new VW Golf. A new Cadillac or Corvette doesn't have as nice an interior. Way too much plastic. Had a chance to drive a clients new 560hp Cadillac last week. Goes like a raped ape but that interior sucks ass. All plastic. What a joke. I'll keep my 110,000 mile 2003 Passat, thank you.

I love my 04 Mustang GT, it was built great. I keep up with the maintenance and it provides me everything I need in a daily driver. Mind it I have invested in performance parts, but what mustang owner doesn't modify one. I used to have a Mitsubishi 3000 GT it was a fun car but the maintenance parts were ridiculous and everything had to be purchase through the dealer. I found that quite a hassle each time I needed to replace something because of the added expense from the dealership. In the end I decided it had to go due to it being too pricey to maintain. We also have a 2010 ML 350, I just love the engineering that wet into this vehicle but it is still to early to fully rate it, but for now its great.

mod'ing my M3 was a money pit, and needed constant replacing of oem parts

i prefer my Japanese cars and the tuning scene

though for the price i paid for my GTR here in Aus, if i lived in the US id have another GTR and a ZR1 and something like an Elise for track work

i love bang for buck, and as crude as those ZR1s are with the leaf springs, pushrods, and fisher & paykel interior quality, they are a performance bargain
