Its obvious it will be worth less but regardless, the point of insurance companies is indemnification, as long as they give you back the car as is, they have done their job.

For example, if you have a faded red car and someone hits your door, all they are obligated to pay for is a new door and paint. Now the new door will be off color to your faded car. But their obligations have been fulfilled.

My car right now is worth around 85K according the Blackbook. State Farms total loss percentage changes depending on the total value of the car. Its its a 20K car, I can see a total loss at 50%, but at 100K its 70%. They sent me the matrix.

Thanks for the concerns guys but since I have medical insurance and there is no one to sue, I think I may wait a week or so and see how i feel.

I am starting to feel some soreness but nothing even really that bad.

Phil-not sure about the financial implications for you. IOW, if you've leased your car, the diminished value note previously posted is important. Of course, you've probably already thought of that. Were you able to get even a partial plate ID or other description?
