Yeah, I didn't notice the 2-level rims with the gap in between until piggy posted the pic again with the arrows highlighting the gaps.
I've got Megs Versa (ok for face, but too big for anything else), Phil's Boar's Hair (hair falling out now), EZ Detail (breaks), Daytona (breaks), Swissvax (great, but breaks), SM Arnold (good, but bit rough for painted, but great for barrel), Raceglaze (very nice and still holding up).....BUT, I seem to keep going back to my Eimann Fabrik Wheel Woolies.
Lol, motorcycle wheels are usually a challenge...especially the rears. I think I subconsciously sold my last motorcycle because I got tired of keeping it mint, haha.
The Home Depot grout sponge makes for a great wheel sponge. It is a lot more durable than the Lowe's grout sponge. It cut one in half and cut a checkered pattern slits into the face of the sponge with a new razor blade. I then used the other half to cut into 3 different wedged shapes for getting in between spokes an such.
+1 on swisswax or or the Raceglaze 28mm Brush and finger mit(used it for first time and its great for behidn spokes and faces as long as rims are not close arranged spokes
wheel face - im using the fluffy finger mitt on my wheels and it works perfectly. So well, i went back and ordered a few more for stock http://www.carnaubawaxshop.com/shop/viewproduct.php?product_id=193 wheel barrell - i still havent found anything that cleans better/quicker than the daytona/ezbrush disc hub/hat and caliper - here i use a zymol wheel brush (slightly stiffer bristles than the sv)
For the wheel face the Raceglaze style brushes work very well. You can get them in all nooks and crannies. For the wheel backs the Vikan soft wheel brush is very good. I prefer it to the EZ/Daytona. Alot less splatter and better cleaning due to shorter filaments. It's shorter though, much like the EZ mini brush. Don't know if it's available in the US...
